Tortola - Distance from the pier to shopping?

Hello

Could someone advise on the distance from the pier at Tortola to the main shopping district Road Town? Is it far?
We cruise in September and trying to plan a back-up in case the port adventures are booked up.

Edited to add: I would wonder the same for St Thomas - distance from pier to Charlotte Amalie?

Oh Tortola the stores are right there, maybe a 3 minute walk? Maybe 5 depending how fast you walk.

St. Thomas was about 10 minutes from the strip of shops. It’s probably actually less than 10 minutes but it was so hot (and I had my little one in a carrier too!) that we dragged a bit!

There is a cluster of shops right at the pier. Then it is about a 10 minute walk down to the prison museum and the rest of the town.
