Toronto Airport Hotels

Hello :flower:

Which hotels do you use when you fly out of Toronto? We have used the Marriott (which worked the year we flew out on a Sunday, but they rate triples for weekdays). We used Fairfield Inn by the Marriott last year, but didn't like the outdoor parking (it was VERY cold when we returned and my dad's brake lines snapped and he rear ended us at a stop light  ). So Marriott is better in that it does have indoor parking. As well, we had problems getting the shuttle from the Fairfield to bring us back to the hotel from the airport when we returned. We called and waited and waited and waited ... and called again ... and waited ... until the nice lady driving the Sheraton bus gave us a lift!!! So I don't know if I want to go back there. I was just reading about the Residence Inn by Marriott, but it doesn't mention a shuttle. It does have a suite though that all six of us could share - but they may not let two cars park for the week.

ok ... enough rambling on ... any suggestions for other places?

Thanks ...
Kerri

Take a look into the Sheraton Gateway which is attached to terminal 3. They have a reduced weeklong parking rate when you stay at the Sheraton one night. It was something ridiculously low ($39-$50). While I realize it is not free like area airport hotels you can't beat the convenience. You are already at the airport and the garage is covered so no worries about snow and ice.

We had a 6am flight from terminal 3 and you couldn't beat the convenience of walking from the hotel directly to the terminal. Also, there was no need to take winter coats on the plane, (one less thing to lug to Orlando) :Pinkbounc

The Sheraton Gateway may actually have a package deal that includes parking and a place to store your winter coat and boots. I was looking into it for our trip. In the end, we didn't use them because the package was beyond our budget.

A friend who just travelled to the Dominican highly recommended the Sheraton too. The room rate was $185, which to me is high as we will more than likely need two rooms. There are six of us (me, dh, my parents and our two girls). I don't think they'll allow that many in a room, plus it would be cramped. I do LOVE the thought of just rolling into the terminal without having to go outside, but it is a bit beyond our budget too.

I will keep browsing the net!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express once. Outside parking. They have a regular shuttle (I think every 15 - 20 minutes). They only have small mini buses. We had an early departure time. We went down to the lobby to catch the shuttle and their were 30+ people waiting for the bus. Ended up taking a taxi to the airport.
