DD and her husband flew out of orlando today..
they were in their room at POR when the call came that there was a tornado warning and they must stay in their room.
But they were supposed to check out about then and get on the Magical express bus..
so she called the front desk to ask what they should do.
So they front desk sent a golf cart over to pick them up and got them to the lobby relatively unscathed (despite the torrential rain coming down all around)..
at the airport, they managed to get on an earlier flight (as they wanted a better chance of making it to the next airport for the next leg of their flight)
they were ground stopped at orlando airport for about an hour on the tarmac, and then once in the air, they hit the turbulence of the century..
such bad turbulence that many people were screaming (including DD) and many others upchucking (including her husband)..
after about a half hour of truly frightful flying, things finally began to calm down and the pilot came on the intercom to apologize for the rough flight.
He said they'd had to fly around some very nasty weather and the turbulence was the worst he'd ever experienced in his career...so i guess it wasn't very much fun up there...
but they made it....so that's good..
i hope things have since improved in orlando and at the parks!!
