Tornado Alley residents - do you pay attention to the sirens?

We live in the Midwest too and take the sirens very seriously! Our little rural town was hit with an EF4 tornado in 1982 and it destroyed our town. We did recover but it took a long time. Just a few years ago we got hit with a derricho which was just as bad and left the town without power for almost a week. It did as much damage as the tornado did. And was extremely scary. Since then we got a weather radio and my dh is now obsessed with watching the radar online if bad weather is possible.
