I've heard a few mention that RP has a torch lighting. :confused3 Can someone tell me more about this? is it something I need to make a point to attend one night?

i've seen it a lot and enjoy it.

it is held by Tower 3 RPH, by the pool.

it is held on select days of the week.
when i go in october, it is on saturdays, beginning at 6:00

the ceremony starts with the conch blowing.
the MC talks about this event.
Hula dancing done and children then invited to join in with them.
also has fire dancing, etc.

it is open to the guests to watch.

from the website:

Gather poolside on select evenings for the torch lighting ceremony featuring the "oli aloha" welcoming chant, a fire dancer and more. The torch lighting ceremony at Loews Royal Pacific Resort is based on an ancient Hawaiian tradition called "kukui hele po" which translates to "light to move in the night." Select evenings.

We have seen it quite a few times too. Normally during the summer stays when we are still using the pool around dinner time.

Sounds fun! We'll definitely make sure to see that one night! I'll be there in two weeks. Does the website have a schedule?
