Did I remember correctly that Topsiders is now open for dinner? If so, can someone tell me how the menu is? Is it the same every night or does it change? Times? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

We've done Topsiders for dinner a few times... we were scheduled for the later seating and with a DS3 who is normally going to bed at 8pm...well, that wouldn't work for us. we asked our head server to switch us and he did on a nightly basis if he could. a few nights he could not so we did Topsiders. It was a great alternative. We've cruised Disney 4 times so we really weren't missing out on something new... The food was great! Steak :) I forget what else because I am a big steak lover :)!! There was plenty good choices and it was much faster service than the traditional rotation dinner. I love the rotations but this is a great alternative. I know you can go up there at 6:30, but they might open before that... hope this helps.

I know that when the Oceaneer Lab and Club take kids to meals that they always go to Topsiders. On our July cruise I went up to check on my son and there was no one there except the kids from the lab. It did not appear to be open to the general public at that time. Maybe things have changed in the past month or so, who knows?

I guess that maybe the kids were just there earlier than the rest of the diners show up. :confused3

bumping.... just wondering if anyone has any more info. Like menu items, ect........ thanks

Topsider's dinner hours are 6:30-8:30. I know they offer a fish and beef dish every night. If I remember correctly, they also offer a pasta dish and a couple of other dishes. We were lucky enough to always go when they had tilapia, my favorite fish. It was delicious. DH and I are planning on going to Topsider's for dinner at least two or three times next month. We love it. The atmosphere is totally different in the evenings...nice and quiet and as someone else mentioned, faster service than the dining rooms.

It may be confusing to new people, because Topsiders is on the Magic and they are open for dinner on the 7 night. The Beach Buffet on the Wonder is not open for dinner during the 3 & 4 night cruises. They do use the buffet area for the kids in the club to go to dinner, but not open for others.

I just want to make sure I understand this. If you elect not to do rotational dining one night you can eat at Topsiders for SIT DOWN dinners? I thought it was only a buffet. Is one side a buffet in the evening and the other sit down?

Topsiders is sitdown on the Magic every night for dinner except the first night.
Any early cruisers on the boards, I thought Topsiders has always been open for dinner. It was when we cruised in 2003.

Topsiders is great for dinner and it now serves the exact same menu as the dining rooms do, with the exception of the salad. At topsiders you will go to salad bar. Everything else is served steaming hot to you at your table. There is a sommelier to get you wine if you choose. Hubby and I loved it and said there would never be a need to eat in dining room again. It also didn't take so long to go through the whole dining process.

I read in the Passporter that it is partial sitdown for dinners -- that you have to self serve on some aspect (but I can't remember if it is for drinks or salads or what since I don't have the book handy here at work.) No?

We were just on the Magic on July 30th and Topsider's opens at 6:30pm, which is right after the club kids leave. The servers told us each night's menu is based up offering about two items from the three restaurants (Lumiere's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay). The menu looked great (we were eating at Palo's that night so we didn't order food...we just took the kids there for dinner) and the kids menu was great as well.

Just a quick question. From a previous post I read that dinner is only available on a 3 or 4 night in either the dining rooms or room service. Are there any snack style outlets open - or am I doomed to eat in the room if DD can't handle the late seating? If that is the case can I get any dinner from the restaurant that I should be eating at that evening? Thanks for any info!

I am a single traveller. On the 7 night Magic I usually enjoyed eating with my tablemates. One night I ate at Palo, which I would recommend for all adults, singles, couples or any combination. ::MickeyMo

One port night, I missed dinner and went to topsiders. It was very pleasant. There was a good variety on the menu; I think I had steak. It was table service, but far less hectic than the dining room.

For me this was better than chicken tenders by the pool or the limited room service menu.
