I'm on the 1/16 Wonder and Accuweather predicts 65 degrees and 30mph winds :scared1: . Can we dock at CC with those winds? When I tried to pull up the old thread about docking at CC, the search didn't work.

Also, if we're at sea with those winds, how rough will it be?

Thanks for your help! :D

Jenny,we are on the 16th also and I am trying very hard not to feel discouraged :guilty: How are you finding extended forecasts for the Bahamas and Castaway Cay?I can't seem to get beyond 5 days on Accuweather. We are spending a day at Disney before the cruise with a forecast of showers and 65 degrees, then sunday and sailaway is showers and 67 degrees, what do you know of Mon and Tues? Right now I am hoping for just one day in the warmth and sun :umbrella: :boat:

I am guessing you will be able to. On our 10 day we had 63 degrees and 30-40 mph winds and some rough seas throughout the whole cruise. The last night the TV said the seas were very rough, 12-16. I hope you can dock. The captain told me he wondered if we would be able to or not but he got us in perfectly.

I April, 2003, we had 35kt winds and it took over an hour, but we made it! The captain had to turn the ship many times before he was able to dock.

Matt, just in case it rains for our whole cruise, could you give us pointers on hoe to "cope" ? All these fantasies of swimming pools and warm beaches....now I don't know what to expect or how to prepare! :boat: :umbrella:

Thanks for everyones help! :grouphug: As it turns out, Accuweather now says winds will only be 12 mph for CC. Good news, if they're right. I guess this is what happens when you check long-range forecasts!

eeyoresmom- I've been going to Weather.com and Accuweather.com. For Accuweather, you need to click on "world forecasts" to get the Bahamas. I type in Orlando for Port, Nassau, and Freeport for CC and sea day. I'm hoping the Weather Channel's site is more accurate because they are predicting much better weather. :sunny: Whatever happens, it doesn't look like a rain-out. It will be cool and windy with scattered showers. At this point, I'm just hoping for calm seas so that we can enjoy onboard activities! :boat:

Here are the latest reports as of noon. There's a huge difference between some of the days. I don't know what to believe:

Weather Channel:
Port - 71 Few Showers
Nassau - 77 Partly Cloudy 20mph Winds
CC - 70 Scattered Showers
Sea - 69 Partly Cloudy

Accuweather:
Port - 56 Cloudy
Nassau - 78 Partly Cloudy
CC - 64 Mostly Sunny
Sea - 65 Sunny

Jenny, thanks, the forecast is looking a little better.Only problem is now we have to pack for warm and cool weather  I've been typing in Cape Canaveral for our port day.I believe it differs from the Orlando forecast(how 'bout we take whichever one is better? :umbrella:

If the weather is bad they will change the navigator and add more onboard activities. It wasnt that bad for us but they added extra entertainment and movies in theatre and in the lounges. Even though the lagoon at CC was closed we just sat on the beach and relaxed and talked with people. Litte kids played in the sand. Also my mom and I went on a nice walk which is was fun to. Lots of people got off and just explored CC. If its not raining but to cold to swim why dont you guys rent bikes and explore, that is pretty fun. We are forturnate to have only had 1 bad day on our last day out of the 24 days of cruising we have done on DCL. We felt very lucky and knew we would be back and didnt let one bad day spoil the trip. hope you enjoy your cruise. I cant wait to be back on the magic again! Less then 2 years. lol We got the wonder though in less then a year which will help us cope for waiting so long. lol

Matt
