Meanwhile, my mom and I are plotting a girls' outing in Atlanta. I will say more about that when we have a date and some tickets (it's not the Mary Poppins musical which we are still planning on attending but haven't purchased tickets for yet), but it is something that will probably make me all weepy as it will be a childhood dream of sorts come true for me. More on that later though especially since it entails educating Chelsea on one of my childhood loves.

Four Days Until We Leave!!!

Hard to believe how quickly this trip is approaching! The other night we (I) had a bit of a scare. Chelsea was being mean to her brother, and while she was dancing away from him like a Whirling Dervish smacked her pinky toe into the kitchen island.

My first reaction?

“God will get you!”

However, Chelsea being Chelsea (AKA the Hypochondriac Drama Queen), her toe was broken!!! She needed gauze tape!!! She iced it and laid on the couch whining all night long!!! I don’t doubt that it hurt like the dickens, but really, there was nothing I could do about it.

Upon realizing there was no gauze tape in the house, she taped her pinky toe to the toe next to it using Arthur Band-Aids. Wish I had gotten a picture of that.

Yesterday morning, she could hardly walk on it and took to hopping around the house. Still not getting the sympathy she thought she deserved from me, she called my MIL. Chelsea fared no better with her. She told her to keep her foot elevated and to stay off of it.

At one point yesterday morning, Chelsea crawled across the floor to retrieve the remote control with her leg still up in the air (because she was trying to keep it elevated).

Sigh. If I hadn’t been laughing so hard, I might have been able to locate the camera somewhere.

By mid-afternoon, after I casually mentioned a couple of times that she might have to stay home from Disney with the grandparents (yes, I am that mean mom), she was able to start walking on her foot again and not hopping about. She seems to have made a full recovery at this point.

So, one week from today, we will be at the Magic Kingdom!!!

Some of us will ride Space Mountain,

Some of us will ride It’s a Small World,

We will ride Peter Pan,

Try out some goofy 3D glasses at Mickey’s Philharmagic,

Have brunch at the Crystal Palace,

Spin on the tea cups,

Ride Buzz and try to avoid being captured by Zurg,

And…

See a certain parade with some fireworks afterwards!!!

That Chelsea kills me. Hooray for a miraculous recovery! Wow - what a long day at MK you have planned! Sounds like fun though, and I wish it was just a week away for me!

Chelsea cracks me up. I do the same thing with Cooper, my 4 year old. I tell him if he really hurts then he can't go outside to play or whatever. Cures him pretty quickly!! Love the pics of the parade. I absolutely loved it!!

Ah.......could there be anything better than a day at MK?!?!?!?!?!?! I know no matter where you find yourself on this day, it will be filled with lots of FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!! I got all excited when I saw the pictures of our beloved parade!!! I forgot to tell you what Tom did for me this weekend.......on Sunday morning we were all just hanging around, and he decided he was going to put on some old records for us. I was thinking IN MY HEAD how nice it would be to hear my old Walt Disney World record that has the music on it from the Electric Parade, and all of a sudden....what do I hear coming out of the speakers....you guessed right!!!!! HE PUT ON THE WALT DISNEY RECORD AND THAT WONDERFUL MUSIC FILLED OUR FAMILY ROOM!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! It was both heavenly, and also at the same time a little freaky because I wanted to know desperately how he figured out something that I was thinking in my head!!!! I will be thinking of you next week knowing what a wonderful way you will have to end your evening!!!

love the broken toe story....we have had that issue here a few times...and I've done it too, I'm probably the worst patient of all

anyday at MK sounds dreamy....let's hope no rain, small crowds and no blistering heat...

be weary of the in and out of AC...it did me in after our June trip

I have broken my toe before and it is no fun, but I think Chelsea's "broken toe" story is so funny. I am not having a great day and needed a good laugh. Also I read this and thought of you http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2010/07/14/taste-of-africa-street-party-photo-tour/. I am jealous of you. It looks like a lot of fun and so yummy.

Chelsea is too funny! Glad to hear her toe is better. My dark side was thinking if it was broken then she would have a wheel chair and you wouldn't have to wait in as long lines.

I do have to confess that I had a similar reaction with Evan once regarding his pinky finger. Though he wasn't nearly as dramatic.

It's a sprain...nothing we can do....ice, be careful, wait it out.

Two weeks later we go in.
