Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Awesomely creative update. I missed so much with my busy weekend, but how did I miss this! You must have posted right after I checked.

So Kim Possible = Liquid Refreshment? I see! :rolleyes1

I gotta say - I love those kitchen sink pictures! There are how many gallons of ice cream in there?

I remember it being the day after Chelsea's so it is easy for me to remember. ;) I also remember how your due date is September 20th (right?) because that's the day after Connor's birthday.

yep, you're right! how funny! i guess our families just pick good times to have babies. ;)

My gut feeling is that all of this (with maybe the exception of the fireworks) will be around for longer than just this summer. I have a hard time believing Disney would install new effects at the ToT and ship a parade all the way out from California just for ten weeks.

i hope you're right! i saw some pics of the parade today and there sat alice on top of a mushroom and my heart melted. i wanna see it!!!!

Well I for one will be waiting to get you edibles list! YUM YUM

Have you seed the blog on the new Sumernightastic photos! Can't wait !:goodvibes

Joining in a little late in the ga,e, but I am all caught up.

I can totally relate to your need to see the MSEP. I was so upset when i found out that they got rid of it, and then when I found out they were bringing it back this summer I started trying to figure out where i was getting money to go to disney just for the parade.

I'm away from the boards for a bit and look what happens. WOW. Although, I will admit, I'm not surprised you switched back to WDW.

That seems to be the consensus! :rotfl:

I hope you and Chelsea do the tea. I've always wanted to and I'd love to hear all about it.

I would like to get over to the Grand Floridian for it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who makes multiple ADRs! Guilt abated. I have a few to cancel myself now that I know when the kids are competing. I will admit to keeping one maybe ADR. I'm not sure we can use it but I'm not ready to cancel it yet either.

I am not ready to cancel any of my duplicates, either. There will be somebody very happy when they walk up the day of and find out there is an opening. ;)

and thanks for explaining the $ stuff....I'm just glad you get to go and everyone seems happy about it

Yes, I think we are all quite pleased with heading to Disney instead of the beach.

I'm so excited for you and your trip to Disney!! We don't get there until August 22nd (and Nightastic ends on the 14th) but watching the debut videos this morning really made me wish we could see the Electrical Parade! Theres a chance they're saying they'll keep it around past the 14th--I hope so!

Thank you, Nicole! I hope so, too. I would like for the parade to be there for awhile.

Jackie, I just love your non-edible wish list!! Lol. Eventhough we are only doing MK and Epcot, there are a lot of things that I want to do as well on your list. ;) I want to try all of the tasty adult beverages in Epcot!! Lol.

Thanks! Yep, you will have to make up for lost time with the adult beverages -- the last time you were there was when you were pregnant, right?

Jared's birthday is September 19th too! Of course, now that I'm typing this it seems like we have discussed that they share a birthday in the past......I don't know, my mind is not what it used to be - getting old sucks!

Don't worry! My mind is going, too. We'll probably get to September, and I will post something like, "Cool! Connor has the same birthday as Jared."

Hi Jackie! I just caught up and look what happened? No Disney just wasn't right. Now I can sleep better, knowing that things are back on track with your vacation! :cool1: It's so exciting that you'll be able to see the electric parade again! We saw it at DL a couple of years ago - it was so fun to see again. I bought a video tape of it (yes, video tape) the last season it was at DL before - I wonder if I can find a DVD?:confused3

It's so cool that you kept your ADRs - somehow I don't think that was an accident! :lmao:

Thanks! Yes, I am very excited and able to sleep better, too. ;) I am hoping they will have the CD of the music from the parade. Then, we could listen to it in the car over and over again.

Wonderful list! You guys are going to be having a blast. I'll be thinking of you and the parade.

I'll take pictures for you! :goodvibes

I was on ebay the other day and somebody was selling their MSEP record -- it was up to $9, but I don't know what it ended at.

Somehow, I do not want to take that chance.

I don't blame you -- I wasn't willing to take that chance either.

I think you just eat differently. When I know I have DDP I guess I plan more and have certain places and things I will gravitate towards. Without the DDP I have a similar list. Each way has has its pro and cons. I think I am mindful of it but don't let it completely rule what I eat.
I know I have my snacks that are snack credit worthy and those I pay cash for. Same for CS.

I agree. I think we will find we eat a bit differently off the dining plan.

I watched YouTube videos of both MSEP and the new fireworks show over the weekend. They both look great! You are going to have so much fun. :)

Are you going to watch online videos or let it all come back to you (or be a surprise in the case of the fireworks) when you see it live this summer?

Oh, I will be checking out those online videos, don't you worry! :lmao:

I love your list! So many great things to look forward to.

I love Captain EO. That was one of my favorite attractions when it was in Epcot, and I'm so excited you get to see it. Between that and the Electrical Parade it's sure to be a nostalgic trip!

Yes, it will be quite a nostalgic trip between all my old favorites returning to Disney, and my daughter turning thirteen.

I'm wondering if there's anyway you could trick Bo out for a photo with Chelsea. Perhaps a festive party hat? ;)

Oh, yes, we need to think up something! ::yes::

That is a great list! I'm so excited for you to see MSEP and the fireworks -- Katie's phone was dead by the time that they watched it on Saturday night, but Patrick texted me and said that both the parade and the fireworks were awesome. Of course you know that about MSEP already. ;)

I am so glad Katie and Patrick liked the parade and fireworks! I did read on FB where she said the crowds were crazy!

I would LOVE to experience the new surprises on ToT!

I think Chelsea will really enjoy them!

Jackie! I have been MIA (work has been a little slice of h***) so I missed that you changed back to Disney World! Yay, yay, yay!! I am so excited for you. :yay: I know how disappointed you were when plans changed.

Thank you, Kelli! I hope your work week calms down!

Your list looks great! I'd really like to know how the finances come out using the card vs. the dining plan. I will have two kiddos that are priced as an adult next trip so the dining plan really costs a pretty penny.

That's our thing, too. Chelsea and Connor are both considered adults now, and they tack on that summer surcharge of $5 a day. That adds up really quickly, so I just think paying OOP will be the smartest thing to do. I will be keepin close tabs on how we come out.

6 weeks! Awesome!

Thanks!!! It's slowly getting closer!

I gotta say - I love those kitchen sink pictures! There are how many gallons of ice cream in there?

Thanks, Mary Ellen! I am going to do a similar one for all the food I want to eat.

Not sure about how many gallons of ice cream are in the Kitchen Sink, but I do know, I will need to take some lactaid beforehand since I am pretty much lactose intolerant.

yep, you're right! how funny! i guess our families just pick good times to have babies. ;)

Yes, we do!

i hope you're right! i saw some pics of the parade today and there sat alice on top of a mushroom and my heart melted. i wanna see it!!!!

Alice on the mushroom was my favorite part of the parade when I was little. Every time I see a picture of her sitting way up there, I feel like a five-year-old again!

Well I for one will be waiting to get you edibles list! YUM YUM

Have you seed the blog on the new Sumernightastic photos! Can't wait !:goodvibes

I am hoping to get a chance to work on that list in the next couple of days.

I did see that blog! It made me a little giddy!

:welcome: MSEP is a powerful draw for those of us that grew up with it! ::yes:: Did you figure out a way to get down there for it?

Hopefully we can give you both a nice preview of Alice and her mobile mushroom in just three weeks. :cool1: We can FB some pictures 'live' from the curb. ;)

Well luckily for me I only live about 45 mins away from Disney, so I'm just trying to figure out money for tickets (college took all of my money this year)

Jackie have you seen Prince of Persia yet? I thought that it was something you would enjoy. I thought it was great.

That's what sucked me in and now obessed with making it work even if I go alone!!!!

I've gotta stop reading these PTRs & TRs. I can't stand the fact that I'm going to Vegas instead of Disney! Next year I will be there with my grandaughters.

I'm most anxious to see how it goes OOP for dining. I'm really undecided how to do the meals with the GDs. They don't eat much at all & are very picky eaters. DH & I really like the plan, but with the girls would have to do CS plan.

I'm getting so ready, bought a Vera mini Hipster in Botanica. I will be able to use it in Vegas, then in Disney.

KP with a Slushie is the only way to go, but boo b/c the cosmo slushie was a F & W special, I think -- they were only at the French "booth" for the festival, not the regular stand... But of course I wouldn't complain if they suddenly started offering them as a regular slushie option! VERY TASTY...

looking forward to seeing your other planning lists! :thumbsup2

Then you definitely have to make up for lost time. LOL!

Hopefully we can give you both a nice preview of Alice and her mobile mushroom in just three weeks. :cool1: We can FB some pictures 'live' from the curb. ;)

Yes, please!!! :goodvibes

Oh I will be watching FB for 'live' pics:)

Me too! Thank goodness MeMom and Jill are heading there soon because otherwise I wouldn't know what to do since Wigd will be coming home soon. LOL!

those are GREAT wishes!! I'm going to use some of those for my next trip! Thanks! Can't wait for the EDIBLE WISH LIST!

Thanks! If I can just get my act together and download the pics I want to use for the Edible Version, I could post it. :thumbsup2 Hopefully before the end of the week.

Lucky to be so close to Disney, but I understand completely about college taking all your money!

It's hard, I will agree. I think I am going to blame the DIS for my trip changes. LOL!

I figure the worst case scenerio, we will come out even and will know just to go ahead and do the dining plan on the next trip.

Perfect!!! :thumbsup2

I thought so, too, but then someone found them at the Grey Goose stand a couple of months later. I can't remember who, but they took a picture of the Cosmo machine right beside the Grey Goose and Grand Marnier machines. I am hoping it is still there.

For the past year, it has become increasingly apparent that Chelsea needed glasses. She would squint every time she looked at something far away and in class, she always needed to sit up front to see the board. This really came as no surprise to Charles and me since both he and Connor wear glasses as well as almost everyone else on both sides of our family. I am not sure how I escaped. :confused3

Anyway, anytime we mentioned to Chelsea that she probably needed glasses, she would become an absolute banshee. Crying and screaming, she would insist that she was fine and didn't need them.

Well, for whatever reason, she finally gave in and admitted she needed her eyes checked. Big surprise, she does need glasses because she is near-sighted, and she picked out a very cute pair that are tortoiseshell frames with a plum color on the inside. We went yesterday to pick them up, and she was shocked at what she was able to see now that she has them.

Guess who broke out into "A Whole New World"? Yep, Charles did. I, of course, had to join in with a few lines. It would have made quite the nice duet except neither of us have any singing talent whatsoever.

Here's my pretty girl sporting her new glasses.

We told her if she wears them all this coming year, she can get contacts before she starts high school. I hope it is incentive enough for her to do so.

I know Chelsea probably doesn't want to hear this, but I think she looks beautiful!

I wear glasses (I have since I was four), and when I got into high school, my mom allowed me to get contact lenses. She wanted me to be responsible enough to care for them properly, and boy was she right.

Sounds like a good incentive to me, and I'm glad that she can see better! :goodvibes
