Forget the recipe, would you mind sharing the cookies?
Sure, I just baked them yesterday, but they are going fast. You better hurry!

I told Charles he was going to end up reminding me of The Shining if we were stuck indoors all weekend together.
No, please! I take back my nuts comment!
That's a great idea to substitute blueberries for the raisins, I may try that tomorrow!
Yes...the whole week off!
Big kids only had last Friday and today off, the E's get the whole week (and a week for Spring Break so we get out of school pretty late). Which is why we braved Presidents week on our trip last year, it was the only time we could get all 4 kids on vacation together and even with that each had to miss a couple of days.
It's odd now to be stuck at home for the whole week when last year at this time we were at Disney! It will however make the Cali trip that much more of a surprise to the boys though!
As a working parent though it's tough. Since xmas break they've had MLK weekend, a conference week (four half days), 2 in-service days and now the mid-winter break. If I do get a "real" job again I am dreading going back to dealing with the logistics of coverage.
How are you holding up, Cynthia, as the week is progressing? I always wish we were headed somewhere when we have time off -- we all tend to get on each other's nerves by the end of it. I am thankful that I don't have to figure out logistics though -- being off at the same time as the kids is one of my favorite parts of my job.
Oh, by the way, did you go see The Lightning Thief on Monday? Curious to hear what you thought of it.
NYC schools are closed all week for mid-winter recess. It's snowing here again, but not sticking. Since this vacation has started, I've watched more trash television than I ever have. Spring break is the end of March/beginning of April. Do you have a winter break?
Nope. No winter break for us. How has your week been so far? I thought of you the other night when I saw that Bret Michaels was going to be on the Celebrity Apprentice.
I do love freshly fallen snow -- the dirty slush that is tramped into my house, not so much.
Our winter break is called a snow day.

We get the 23rd of December to the first of the year for our Winter Break.
We get two weeks off at Christmas and that's about as good as it gets until spring break. I won't really complain too much -- I love that we are out by the end of May.
I'm so jealous that your going to get to see MSEP! It's one of my fonest memories from my childhood. I love Spectro, but it's not quite the same. The music for MSEP just makes the whole parade for me.
Two trips this year, and I'm going to miss the parade. Boo! My brother and SIL are going at the end of August, think I can crash their trip too?
Yes, crash their trip!!! Do you know, it's the music and Alice on the mushroom that I remember most fondly? I had a 45LP of the music and used to play it over and over and over. I wish I still had that record -- it had images from the parade screenprinted on it.
Hey Jackie!
Yeah for snow days! The whole country has been slammed this year, huh? It's so strange - we get snow every year, of course, but I don't remember this much in the past few years. My mom was saying the other night that this reminds her of winters they would have when she was younger.
Is spring here yet?!?!?!?!
Hi, Katie! I am ready for spring in a huge way. I am tired of multiple layers of clothes, heavy coats, and gloves. I need flip flops and bathing suits at this point.
