A 4th grader showed up for track practice this morning wearing track pants and purple UGGs. Yes, UGGs, not Nikes, for running track.

Yes, we did. Here's another typical Chelsea comment. I let her play with my eyeliner tonight and when she came out I said, "You look like a hoochie mama." Her response? "Why, thank you!" and did some sort of shimmie dance. I had to laugh.

TOOO cute. I am all for the Valentine's day party! I would! seems like it could be fun! Theme-y! No spin the bottle and you will be okay!!!

It would be all girls so I think I will be okay. I did one a few years ago with my friends, and it was a lot of fun.

I love that you are still flip flopping about the resort.. stick with the GF! It will be the ultimately girly surprise, and we will help you to keep the secret -- the DIS was my outlet for all my surprises! That way I didn't spill it to them! But boys are clueless... so I had it easier!

The DIS is going to be my lifesaver. I know I need to stick with the Grand since this trip is all about Chelsea, and it is her dream resort.

I guess I better keep following along with your PTRs and TRs. I'm getting a lot of good info about teen girls - I can be more prepared! My DD8 is already sassy - it's so hard to deal with that mouth! I just can't wait until she's a teen. Ugh.

Chelsea has always been a bit sassy, but it has gotten worse this year.

I had a good laugh at Chelsea's comment about NYers being stylish!! She'd cringe if she saw how we dress in MN when it's cold! We're like the little boy in The Christmas Story - "I can't put my arms down!"

That's how I have been dressing all week!

Too funny!! Gotta love that teenage mouth. I'm battling with Justin right now too with the cold. It's frigid here, much colder than we are used to, and it looks like it's going to be that way for awhile. Justin doesn't have a proper winter coat, he hates them, so all he has are hoodies. I wanted to take him to the mall yesterday to buy him a coat and he preceeded to tell me that just because I think it is cold doesn't mean that he thinks it's cold. He doesn't want a coat...

That's what I have been dealing with Chelsea as well! Every day she waltzes out of her room in a hoodie! Yesterday our high was the same as Quebec's -- hello! I think she needs more than just a hoodie. At least she dressed appropriately to play in the snow today.

I'm obviously way late but I'm in too! Chelsea is a really lucky girl! What a good mom you are. This will be a fun one to read. I have two girls, ages 10 and 9 so it's good to know what's coming down the road for me. The sassiness has already started unfortunately. Fortunately, it's not too bad yet.

I have to comment on the sassy mouth thing. My youngest is 10, but because she has a sister that is 9 years older she has always acted older than she is. She thought she was 16 when she was 5. So of course the sassy mouth started too early. I'm wondering when it will end. My older daughter is now 19 and has gotten over her sassy mouth and is actually really fun to be around. Hopefully Danielle the youngest will follow in her footsteps.

On a better note she did get her first AG doll this year for Christmas.

I am sure Danielle will outgrow it as well! They all do eventually, right? I hope so! LOL!

K had her makeup done and it really helped her tone it down on her own. The perfume does get better, I agree with PPP on that one!

My biggest struggle is actually in the summer with the short shorts. I can deal with the skinny jeans but the shorts can be borderline! I think I banished all of hers, we'll have to start over this summer, BLEH.

American Girl seems soo long ago! UGG's not so much.

Chelsea found a website tonight called Makeup Sense which I guess has step-by-step directions on how to do various looks. She disappeared into her room and did several different styles -- showed me each one -- then, washed it off and did another one. It's keeping her occupied while I DIS.

I know that short shorts will be a battle this summer. It was almost one this summer.

i have 2 neighbors who constantly wear camo. they are big hunters. every time i see them with a camo hat on, for example, i will say something like, "hey, shawn. what happened to the top half of your head? i can't see it!!!" they think i'm insane.

on a completely unrelated note, they are checking the tornado alarms in the town i live in right now. they do it several times a year. usually i freak out and wonder if there's really a tornado coming for a split second before i realize it's just a drill. but seeing that it's 31 degrees and sunny outside, i don't think a tornado is even a possibility.

I always jump a little when they test the alarms here -- it's the first Wednesday of every month at 12:00 but I always forget about it until they start screeching.

Miracle is my new name. Does anyone have that one? And since I had a theme song for the last one. Also, Miracle actually sorta fits me.. because I was born premature- and when I was born I was the first baby born that early and that small that actually lived with no health problems. By grandma always said I was her miracle baby.. and then on Christmas Eve- my grandma (opposites grandparents) said I remember when you were born- you were our miracle baby and it made me smile. I was even in a magazine and put in the hospital book. I was born in Nov. and was suppose to born on the end of Feb. and I weighed 1lb 12 ounces. I was sooooo small. So if this one isn't taken.. I guess it fits me better than then the other one.
