No idea, but you could do a room only the first night and then book your FD package for the following day.

Please someone confirm. A pp stated cabins are excluded. I know campsites always are but cabins have always been included in the past.

I am sorry, I don't know anything more than that. I typed that as she said it while I was on the phone. Since we were LM room, not Cabins, I didn't ask anything further. I had been holding out hope that LM rooms would be offered to Visa holders, and when I found out they weren't, I went on about my Plan B. (POFQ Garden View)

I'm not sure if this info is already out there but when I called to book my FD at POP this morning, *SOOO excited the super AWESOME CM told me the 2013 packages are being released tomorrow. Sorry if this is a repeat but just wanted to spread the info incase anyone didnt know yet.

On hold right now..... she said the code wasn't working, so she is calling guest services.... We are checking in 10/20 at POR - RGR... I'll post an update as soon as I have one.

EDIT - got to stay at POR in a RGR, just had to upgrade to either a riverview or water view... so I upgraded to a riverview and DxDp, and saved about $70... oh boy!!!

Not exactly sure what you mean. If you are staying in a value hotel, you get the QSDP for free there is no charge at all. If you are staying at a mod or deluxe hotel, you get the regular DDP for free. If you are asking the price to upgrade the free QSDP to the regular dining plan, see the below quote.

Did you try calling or are you quoting from the website? I would try calling and ask if you can get dinning starting on 10/20. If they tell you no, you could always pay for the first night as a room only and do the rest of your stay as free dinning.

I was told by so many people, I couldn't possibly name them all, that if(when) FD came out, it would be added to my current reservation. Therefore, my ticket prices would stand at the lower price. This morning a bunch of people are being told that because we had to upgrade to a garden view (at POR) to get the FD, we now have to pay the new higher ticket price difference.... what's up with that? Oh, and it was confirmed by many people, CMs and their supervisors.

Anyway want to guess why they made that change of policy... or whatever you want to call it?

Yay!! Got free dining for our trip for POR! Had to upgrade to gardenview, but still saved a ton!

Even the CM this morning told me that I would be keeping my old prices, and said the price difference had something to do with taxes, but now I am certain it was the ticket increase. Nothing else makes sense, so it has to be that. The ticket increase should be pretty minimal though compared to the savings of FD, at least for us it is, but we are there for 9 nights. Not sure how long you are staying, but definitely do the math to see if it saves you more money to switch or if it is not worth it. Again, sorry if I gave you bad info, but I would never have said it if I didn't believe it to be accurate.

I thought it wasn't until Wednesday (the 11th) I'll be super happy if it is tomorrow because I feel like I have been waiting forever to book our 2013 trip!

LOL!!! Actually, you were one (of the many) but I was very grateful for your extremely helpful and thoughtful advise on so -many- things I asked relentlessly! I only bring this up here to see if anyone might know the "why" of it.. I still have no clue how much more I am paying for this change since I didn't keep records of what it was before. I tried to do the math, but math was never my strong point! LOL

I got FD can you tell I am excited I was able to keep my dates and POR Good luck everyone. Oh and there were no preferred rooms available but that's ok.

Ok now I am worried. We are checking in 11/11 and we have a royal guest room with water view booked. If you could not get a preferred room when checking in the 10th What are our chances of keeping our room preference

If I have already a room and regular dining package booked at POR for Nov 29 through Dec 8, will they honor the free dining if I call on Thursday? Or is it possible they might say no?

I am wondering the same thing. I have a POR KING room booked with a %off for the room.....but I already have the DDP and park hopper tickets on my reservation for Dec 10-17th. So I should be able to pay rack rates for the room and get the free dining added (on thursday), right? I am really stressing over this for some reason. I don't want to have to change resorts and now I'm pretty much stuck with those dates at this point. Also, since I already put the down payment down on that package, I shouldn't have to pay another deposit, should I?

It used to be that way...but when the new ticket prices came out there were threads on dis that said this year the policy changed. I think it's awful too...but nothing you can do about that I guess.

We're booked at the BCV checking in 12/8 for a week. How much of a pain is it to do split stays? Would we have to check out and check back in on the 10th then possibly even switch rooms?

That isn't how any free dining offer has worked in the last 8 years and either that info is incorrect or you have misinterpreted it.
