Top of the World? Blackout Dates?

Hi.

I am staying in our DVC at SSR from December 26-Janury 1.
Can we go to Top of the World during this time? NYE? Any day between Christmas and NYE or is
it blocked out to only BLT DVCers during that week?

Blackout dates are (currently) 7/3, 7/4, 12/30 & 12/31. On the blackout dates, you must be using your membership to stay at BLT to access the TOTWL.

IMO if they aren't at capacity, Disney will let you up.

Not correct, they are very strict on those dates. You must be staying at BLT.....

We saw people turned away on Dec 30 because they were not staying at BLT.

We have found that it all depends on who is guarding the door. Since Disney makes money from bar and food sales, they tend to bend the rules. That's why the rules were changed from BLT guests only to any DVC guest.

So as long as you are a DVC member you can go up on a non blackout date?

We are currently in Orlando, but not staying on prop. Thinking about going here for wishes tonight....

It was very crowded on NYE, 2015. On December 30th, not at capacity from what I saw. We stayed at BLT specifically to see the fireworks from there. Will be there in July, too!

No, you have to be staying in a Disney owned/operated resort, either points or cash. You'll need a current magic band. Plus you cannot park in the BLT parking lot.

I was thinking that they had never checked MB before, but then I realized that last time I went to top of the world was Pre MB!!!
