Top of the World at BLT - kids allowed? Reviews?

I haven't seen anything that says kids aren't allowed but I wanted to make sure. It looks beautiful. Are you allowed to bring your own refreshments/snacks?? How are the drinks/food?

Yes, children are permitted. You aren't allowed to bring your own food and beverages. That is what they are selling up there.

I've brought my kids (9 & 12) up there several times. They have the fun glow cube drinks for the kids if you want to indulge. And the same variety of adult cocktails for grown-ups like they have at other WDW restaurants. The food menu is very limited. A couple of flatbreads and other appetizers, and a dessert trio if I recall. My understanding is that there is not a full service kitchen up in the lounge so that is why the selections are limited. I've heard they have Uncrustables for kids if you ask, but cannot confirm. And it is, indeed, a wonderful place to watch Wishes without fighting the crowds.

We have brought desserts (cupcakes and such) from other Disney bakeries before (but we were drinking drinks from there and eating flatbreads. Since they didn't offer those things it was fine.

I haven't taken my own but a relative of mine took her 3 and 6 year old...no problem.

My kids enjoyed watching the fireworks from up there. They definitely make one of the STRONGEST Irish Coffees that I have ever had in my life, and I've had a lot of those! DH and I both agreed they were doozies - we didn't stand too close to the railing after drinking those down!

We (myself + 2 kids) had a "dinner" of flatbread appetizers one evening up there before the fireworks - menu was limited but what we ordered was tasty. This was over a year ago, so don't know if the menu has changed.

This very quickly became a favourite place for us. We've had the flatbreads, the dessert trio, and DD loves to sit at the bar-stool height tables. For fireworks there will be plenty of families present.

When we were there last September we saw people who brought their own refreshments up to the look out part. They just didn't go in to the lounge area and stood out and enjoyed the fireworks with their own beverages. Myself, I didn't see a problem with that.

Our family shared several of the flat breads. And one DD didn't care for those and we asked if food could be brought up from the CS place downstairs. Our server told us yes, that was not a problem. So she went and got some food and brought up to eat. The staff had no problem with it. But, again, we asked before doing this.

We can't wait to stay at BLT again in October. Loved the lounge and watching the fireworks from up there. Will do it time and time again!

We went one evening with DS (3 yrs) and DD (7 mo). It was great to watch the fireworks with little ones from a distance - DS was able to enjoy without being scared by the noise.

We didn't order any food - DH and I each had a drink, DS drank water (with lemon, per his request to the server).

We were not the only ones with little kids in the lounge.

We have taken our DD 7&9 for drinks on our last two Christmas trips. They love the "grown up ness" and enjoy the view. We order one fancy drink and then go for dinner. We have never seen the fireworks but the Icing of the Castle is fun to watch from there. The staff is always very patient and happy to make a fun experience for the entire family. We have been up on NYE and they gave the girls crowns and had special drinks for the evening. They also had a party that night but we did not return for it.

There where plenty of kids up their when I went in August. In fact I think their were more kids than adults...

Lots of kids in the lounge! When we took my 8 year old niece, she went with us a few times. She was big into soda so we did let her fill her mug up before we went up to the lounge. But the three adults all ordered drinks and we all got dessert too.

My daughter who is a 19 year old non-alcohol drinker, had fun with the non-alocholic beverages in the lounge last trip. She tried most of them since we had several early evenings because I was just done with chemo and got tired early.

It's such a nice option to enjoy the lounge although it was quite breezy the week we were there - October.

We went up a couple times, only issue was one night a group let their small kids play tag throughout the lounge .
