In Feb 2016, we are taking a trip including my aunt. She is 60ish, no children, not a WDW diehard, she is just there for the fun/vacation/family. We have 2 DDs, 7 & 4. Pretty girly/princessy.

But, to get her excited about the trip, I thought I would send her a movie each month leading up to the trip, starting now.

What would you choose to be in the top 10?

It's not a traditional one , but Meet the Robinsons, is one that always gets me...Gets me super pumped for the upcoming trip..

"Keep Moving Forward," Walt Disney

Wow, it's hard to narrow it to ten.

Here's my top picks: Peter Pan, Lion King, Toy Story, and Tinker Bell

Since your girls love princesses, I'd send movies with the princesses in them so your aunt will be familiar with those characters when you go to meet-n-greets or character meals. I'd choose your girls' favorites from the following:
Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Brave, and The Princess and the Frog

We personally love Mulan; it's a family favorite. If you plan go to Animal Kingdom, it would be fun to send her Jungle Book or A Bug's Life. We also enjoy Monsters, Inc.

Classics:
Cinderella
Peter Pan
Dumbo

Modern Classics:
Toy Story 1&2 at least
Pooh Movie
Up
Tangled
Frozen
Little Mermaid
Beauty & The Beast

Swiss Family Robinson. You can actually stream it for free on Netflix. My girls (7, 4) loved this movie. We've been watching a DIsney movie every few weeks to get ready.

I would pick movies the correlate with attractions you plan to enjoy during your trip. For example, I knew I wanted to take my girls in Peter Pan's Flight, so I borrowed Peter Pan so my girls could watch it. I think that will make the ride a lot more fun for them now!

I dont ever really understand the point behind this question. I dont mean that rudely, I am being sincere. If you want to watch something to get somebody "excited about Disney", how about going to Netflix or whatever you have and watching things like Ultimate Walt Disney World or Ultimate "insert park name here"? As another alternative, you can get a vacation planning video from Disney at no-charge to you (or watch it online). I dont really think watching movies would raise the excitement quite like seeing what is being offered in the park.

she is probably familiar with the classics, but she might not know
Frozen (which is everywhere),
Up (at AK),
Finding Nemo ( Epcot and Ak),
Lion King (Ak),
Toy Story AND Beauty and the beast (Both are at MK AND DHS),
the little mermaid, Lilo and stitch, Aladin, Monsters INC (all at MK)
She might enjoy POTC movies as well (at least the first one)

Frozen (because Anna & Elsa are most popular at the moment)
Beauty & the Beast - Enchanted Tales w/ Belle, Be Our Guest inside Beast Castle, along with Beauty & Beast show should be on your list of things to-do.
Little Mermaid - Ariel has a ride and a show.
Pixar - Toy Story, only because it's so popular. Monsters, Inc. has little Boo. Finding Nemo - new movie coming out soon. Up will make her cry.
Lion King - show will likely be more fun if she knows the score of the movie.
Maleficent - a lovely 'film' and introduction to Villains.

I kinda get what you are saying, but when I went with my mom and wanted a picture with Wreck it Ralph, she had no clue who she was standing next to. On our most recent trip we went to the frozen sing along and it was completely lost on her.

Your post did I remind me that if you can find the 2 hour Modern Marvels WDW Episode, it's pretty awesome.

Perhaps 'get her excited' wasn't so much the case as 'prepare her for the attractions'. And although most of the free world has netflix, we do not have internet service at our house, we live in an extremely rural area with poor options. There are days my cell loses service! If you know of an actual DVD of the ultimate Disney, I would love to add that to my list! I will search on amazon! Thank you for that suggestion!

I loved the Modern Marvels episode!

Thank you all for our tips! It is really helpful!

I would pick some movies that are very recognisable in the parks.

- Frozen
- Beauty and the Beast
- Cinderella
- Snow White
- The Lion King
- The Little Mermaid
- Toy Story
- Winnie the Pooh
- Peter Pan
- Finding Nemo
- Tangled
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Mary Poppins

If your aunt is not interested in watching a lot of the Disney movies already mentioned, maybe she would be more interested in some of the documentaries that are out there about Disney and Disney movies. My wife and I really enjoyed:

- Walt: The Man Behind The Myth
- Frank and Ollie
- The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story
- Waking Sleeping Beauty
- The Pixar Story
