Top Chef - Warning May Contain Spoilers - Read only if you want to who was voted off

We haven't seen the last two episodes, but I know that Dale and Spike are gone. (Spike should have been gone SOOOO much sooner!)

Looks like a respectable top 4. Won't be able to watch again this week, because it's Gay Days! (and Wednesday is our 5th anniversary, to boot)

Personally, I'm pulling for Richard or Stephanie to win it all.

I've never watched an entire season before, but I'm really enjoying this one.

I liked Dale, not because of his personality, but because he was a good, solid chef.

I don't like what they show of Lisa - there's no way all that arm crossing and glaring isn't defensive and reactive.

My favorite of the four left is Richard, I think he's creative and an all around nice guy.

I thought he knew how to do a certain thing very well, Asian cuisine, but he was not very broad.

I agree, he wasn't comfortable at all to step outside his comfort zone. And his attitude plain..... did what a vacum does. Sorry Viki, to me a good solid chef needs to be rounded, and comfortable with their overall skills. He simply wasn't.

I couldn't stand him, Mark, Spike, or Andrew

Viki, I agree about Lisa. I have been on her side since day 1. Is it posturing becuase she was on the defensive or how they told her to act. I have alluded to this before. We are only seeing what the producers want us to see.

The same could be said about Dale, Spike, or Andrew . . . ;)

Not from what I hear. I've heard they are really like what they call spikes on a prickly pear.

But if you're going to claim "it's all in the editing" for one, you have to consider it a possibility for all. Just saying. Fairs fair.

I will say that Ted alluded in his blog that Spike and Lisa are being edited to be villains and that neither of them is as bad in real life as they've been portrayed.

I never liked Spike, either, so was happy to see him go. Lisa, isn't my favorite either, but I'm not the one who decides.

Like I said before, I'm pulling for Richard or Stephanie to win.

It's not a biggie either way, but I don't agree with all of the above about Dale - how many quick fires did he win? Maybe I'm not remembering it right - but I think he won with things other than Asian - things like knife skills and barbeque and such - and even when he didn't win he came in the top three.

Anyway, his behavior never bothered me - I thought he was focussed and I loved his food.

Lisa's a drag and her food is way hit or miss.

BTW - talking about food - I grilled Al Roker's ribs with a sweet spicy rub and a vinegar sauce yesterday and they were to die for - definitely would have won that tailgating party grill!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

On quickfires he won only 1 of 12 possible for knife skills. Atleast one of his elimination wins was Asain (lettuce cups) and I don't remember how he prepared the ribs he made in another, I want to say it was Asian or Indian influenced. Technically his 3rd elimination win was a team event (with Richard) so it wasn't a showcase of just him.

I can only remember one stand out dish....a lamp chop during a cocktail hour (Padalyn, JJ's wedding).

off topic here - that was a great wedding over-all.

I have stopped watching the show this season. I was so unimpressed in the first episode that I didn't watch the 3 Ihad on DVR and ended up deleting them without even watching a minute.

As I have said many times Tiggr33 is the foodie of this couple. Feed me solid food and I am happy. She has an amazing "palate memory" as she alluded to - can re-create most things after one serving. She also has an amazing palate for wines.

I had to turn this season off because I felt all of them were unprofessional. I do not and have not worked at their level of the food industry, but if I acted that unprofessionally - I would be looking for a new career. I realize there is a lot of "mugging" for the camera. Also as Tiggr said the editing may have a lot to do with it, but still - they were cursing, being childish and generally not impressing me.

The season ended tonight, Tiggr ended up recording it -I am sure she will have her comments later on today after she watches it.

OK - leaving the foodie thread...::yes::

The food was quite good everything else was lackluster, or worse. Remember the homophobic manager, the tablemates we had that ignored us, the cab who over charged us. I could continue.

I have not seen all of last nights episode. I was busy packing, and gear checking for my trip to the World. I have a awards dinner I am attending tonight, as I am getting sworn in to the board of directors for an organizatoin I am a member off. So I can't do my usual last minute packing. On my agenda for today is to watch last nights episode and get caught up with All My Children.

Let's just say that one of the females lost and it's not the one that should have in terms of skill/quality or even better, attitude.

Although, I do watch this show it's getting harder and harder to do so. It seems that it truly is a "show" with very little resemblance to "reality."

Last night's episode is a good case in point. Over 90% of the viewers wanted one person off, and that was not the person chosen. However, wanting that person off is most likely a result of the way the person is "made to look" instead of the way that person "actually is."

I agree with you Rob. If the producers/directors can make one contestant look "problematic" with editing, etc. they can do it with all the others too. And most likely, they do.

Has anyone ever watched Hell's Kitchen? Now THAT will drive you wild. It's hard to follow due to all the bleeping that goes on. Gordon Ramsey may be an excellent chef, but I'm not impressed with his personality at all. If I am going to dine in that level of a restaurant I'll spend my money on Mario Batali, or Bobby Flay, Cat Cora... :confused3 Just sayin'! LOL.

I agree. I was shocked and really angered. When you look at how the season has gone, I think last night's boot was made so that their top 2 (from last night) have a clear shot at winning. I think that TPTB would like a female to win, but they'd rather that female be Steph instead of either of the other two (not that I disagree, but to kick off one of the 2 people that could challenge her and leave the other in the game?) Ridiculous.

And can I just say "Thank You" to Stephanie for NOT using the pork belly after it had been left out all night. Just Say NO to Trichinosis!

Yeah, that was beyond gross. Can't decide if it was a true mistake/forgetfulness or deliberate. Must say she handled herself very well (far better than my Irish/Italian temper would have)! LOL!

It's getting much too "staged" to enjoy anymore, I think. :confused3

I think it was an accident, because Dale seemed to genuinely like Stephanie (and respect her abilities as a chef). He seemed upset about the mistake. She came out better for it in the end though. Might have even impressed Dale with her ability to stay calm and just roll with the punches instead of losing it (as he would have). I'd be fine with either Richard or Stephanie winning, but as I told my mom back in Episode 2, I think Steph is winning this thing. She's their non-abrasive (but just as talented) Tiffani. I wonder if Richard will be "off his game" "not as creative as they know he could be" etc., in order for them to hand her the win. They've made these sort of decisions before (see: Ilan v. Marcel).

ETA: Congrats to Richard (and his wife Jazmin) on the birth of their daughter Riley. I had to share this picture.

The show to watch with Gordon is "Ramey's Kitchen Nightmares." the most awesome reality show on cable - he takes a restaurant that is about to go belly up and whips everyone and everything, including the food - which he takes local, simple, and clean - into shape in one week. Of course, one of the major reasons I LOVE it is because I do what he does with congregations, only without the food (damn) and in 18 months ... sigh!

BTW - I've eaten in two of Flay's restaurants in NYC and wasn't all that impressed - thought he Spanish themed one is better.

The restaurant I love the most is Morimoto's in Philadelphia - sitting at his sushi bar is like eating right off the coast and he's often right there.

What an awesome photo - thank you!!!:hug::hug:

I've seen that show a couple of times, Vikki. It was a little too much "reality" for me! :scared1:

I love Bobby Flay's food! :thumbsup2 It's great that you've been able to try his places, though.

Morimoto. I would definitely love to try his restaurant. He is amazing!

Something about that photo is off too me. Too staged? Baby's hair is dry, why the gloves? :duck: Guess I'm just a little too cynical in my old age. LOL!
