Top Chef All Stars starts 12/1/10! No ADVANCE Spoilers!

I wish Carla were still around....I think that would have been one of my dream finales - Carla vs. Richard.

Looking at the contestants left in the competition at this point:
Been in the Top Group for Elimination Challenge:
Antonia(5 times), Mike(twice), Richard (4)
Elimination Challenge winners:
Richard (3 times), Antonia(twice), Mike(twice)
Had dishes disqualified, otherwise would have won: Richard(Round One), Antonia(Round 11)
Cooked a dish that was the best, but team's performance lost the round: Antonia(Round 6)
Quickfire Winners: Richard (four times-Round 1,3,8,13), Mike (twice-Rd5 & 11), Antonia(once-Round One)

I guess Antonia really has cooked some good food. If she hadn't had that one Quickfire dish disqualified and also hadn't been on the losing team for Round 11, she would have had a few more notches in her tocque. I'll admit it, though, she's just not one of my favorites.

There are three episodes remaining. Episode 15 (the next one) is a 'last supper', Guest Judges are Wolfgang Puck, Masaharu Morimoto and Michelle Bernstein. Episode 16 is the Finale and then there is the obligatory "Reunion" show to follow.

I dunno if I would go that far lol

He's got extreme self-loathing issues he needs to deal with at one point or another. I don't know where that comes from, since he was considered by everyone at the beginning as the one to beat. Even Mike was still comparing himself about beating Richard in this episode.

Richard saying he hates everything he does being an artist trait is SOOOOOOO resonating w/ me. It's so true! I've painted SOOOO many horses over the years and only ONE have I kept. And even at that, I sold it initially and bought it back. I do it, and get it out! He seems MUCH more tortured than he should be though. I hope he learns to chill or he'll give himself an ulcer. I've learned to relax and be more loose. it's made a wolrd of difference in my attitude. My family prefers the non-wound-up me.

I agree. Richard seems to have self-loathing, not just dissatisfaction, in a very bad way.

Here's a famous quote that might help you as an artist. You are not alone. It's by modern dance legend Martha Graham, who was one of the original pioneers in the modern dance genre, on the same level that Monet and or Rembrandt are known as masters of their painting genres.

"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.

No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."

~ Martha Graham

EXCELLENT quote Imzadi! THANK YOU!!!!. It's so true but so hard to grasp sometimes. ;)

I'm pretty sure this week is the finale. Don't they usually decide the winner from the final 3? It's now down to Richard (so hope he gets it together and doesn't psych himself out again); Antonia; and Mike.

On Tom Colicchio's Top Chef blog, he mentions that there are two episodes to go. Guess they're going back to a one-on-one competition for the finale, the way it was back in Seasons 1 and 2.

According to Eater.Com(http://eater.com/archives/2011/03/17/sorry-there-are-two-more-episodes-of-top-chef-allstars.php):
Next week's episode, titled "Last Supper," airs March 23rd. It features chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Wolfgang Puck, and Michelle Bernstein as guest judges. Someone will be eliminated, and then the actual, real finale airs March 30th.

The reunion episode is April 6th at 10pm, followed by the premiere of Top Chef Masters season three at 11pm.

Yes, it's odd they have this extra episode, now that they are down to the final three. Maybe they couldn't figure out which dish was really better than the other two? So they are having an extra cook-off week? :scratchin

Wow - a head-to-head?! I wasn't into TC until season 3 or 4 so I never saw the head-to-head finale.

Since they sent 5 to the Bahamas instead of 4 because they just couldn't figure who to cut, it may just be that 2 of the 3 were just too close to declare a definite winner.

hmmmm... Richard & Mike?

I never watched a head-to-head either.

Tonight was tough to watch. :sad1: I swear, I wouldn't have had enough energy for a second cook-off that evening. They are really not at their best at that point.

Who the heck was that extra woman at the judge's table, next to Gail, and why was she there? :confused3

Matt has always been such a *you-know-what* to Antonia. He keeps saying she's no threat, blah blah blah, but he sure spent a lot of the season trying to get in her way and trip her up. What a jerk. Antonia has dealt w/ him w/ grace.

I wonder if Carla has been laying on the beach (and crying) since her last episode? I can't imagine they flew her back in. :scratchin

I'd think it would have been shot within just days so she was allowed to chill but out of sight for a few days. Looks like next week, a whole bunch of them are back so they might have flown in half of the cast. I bet she got to meet them when they came in. Fabio is BACK! :goodvibes
