Richard saying he hates everything he does being an artist trait is SOOOOOOO resonating w/ me. It's so true! I've painted SOOOO many horses over the years and only ONE have I kept. And even at that, I sold it initially and bought it back. I do it, and get it out! He seems MUCH more tortured than he should be though. I hope he learns to chill or he'll give himself an ulcer. I've learned to relax and be more loose. it's made a wolrd of difference in my attitude. My family prefers the non-wound-up me.![]()

"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.
No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."
~ Martha Graham
I wish Carla were still around....I think that would have been one of my dream finales - Carla vs. Richard.
Looking at the contestants left in the competition at this point:
Been in the Top Group for Elimination Challenge:
Antonia(5 times), Mike(twice), Richard (4)
Elimination Challenge winners:
Richard (3 times), Antonia(twice), Mike(twice)
Had dishes disqualified, otherwise would have won: Richard(Round One), Antonia(Round 11)
Cooked a dish that was the best, but team's performance lost the round: Antonia(Round 6)
Quickfire Winners: Richard (four times-Round 1,3,8,13), Mike (twice-Rd5 & 11), Antonia(once-Round One)
I guess Antonia really has cooked some good food. If she hadn't had that one Quickfire dish disqualified and also hadn't been on the losing team for Round 11, she would have had a few more notches in her tocque. I'll admit it, though, she's just not one of my favorites.
There are three episodes remaining. Episode 15 (the next one) is a 'last supper', Guest Judges are Wolfgang Puck, Masaharu Morimoto and Michelle Bernstein. Episode 16 is the Finale and then there is the obligatory "Reunion" show to follow.
agnes!
On Tom Colicchio's Top Chef blog, he mentions that there are two episodes to go. Guess they're going back to a one-on-one competition for the finale, the way it was back in Seasons 1 and 2.I'm pretty sure this week is the finale. Don't they usually decide the winner from the final 3? It's now down to Richard (so hope he gets it together and doesn't psych himself out again); Antonia; and Mike.
According to Eater.Com(http://eater.com/archives/2011/03/17/sorry-there-are-two-more-episodes-of-top-chef-allstars.php):
Next week's episode, titled "Last Supper," airs March 23rd. It features chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Wolfgang Puck, and Michelle Bernstein as guest judges. Someone will be eliminated, and then the actual, real finale airs March 30th.
The reunion episode is April 6th at 10pm, followed by the premiere of Top Chef Masters season three at 11pm.
agnes!
Yes, it's odd they have this extra episode, now that they are down to the final three. Maybe they couldn't figure out which dish was really better than the other two? So they are having an extra cook-off week?![]()
I'm sad!![]()
me too
I am happy that one of them is in the finale, but not the other.
Wow - a head-to-head?! I wasn't into TC until season 3 or 4 so I never saw the head-to-head finale.
I wonder if Carla has been laying on the beach (and crying) since her last episode? I can't imagine they flew her back in.![]()
Fabio is BACK!![]()
