Looking forward to "the best" counterpart

A bit surprised he included Artist Point - not saying it is amaze balls but they have some high points that wouldn't put it near my bottom 5 but the beauty of opinions

I have to agree with Artist Point and I knew Boatwright's would be on the list. I had outstanding meals at Artist Point in 2002 and 2004, but on our 2012 trip it was totally lackluster. My entree was skimpy compared to what I'd had in the past. Had Boatwright's the first night of that same trip and was not impressed with our meals and kid's meals were awful. I actually was up sick almost the entire night after eating there. I love POR but doubt I will eat at Boatwright's again.

Haha, Pete's crusade against Captain's Grille continues! My family went there on our first night and I decided to ditch and try the pork belly at Flying Fish. So glad I did.

What did your family say about it, Tony?

I haven't watched yet, but my experience with Captain's Grille was at least 7 years ago, for breakfast. I try to "customize" the experience (especially dining) of anybody who's gong with me the best I can. I found out CG was supposed to have cinnamon raisin french toast, which my friend absolutely LOVES, so I made a ressie there, all happy. Get there, only to be told they stopped making it the week before. Okay, I can maybe understand that (although there was no I'm sorry, and of COURSE no "we can still make that for you") - again - I can kind of understand. But I can tell you service was HORRIBLE - we had to hunt our waiter down constantly (IF we could find him), he suggested we should have gotten the buffet numerous times (like he didn't want to be bothered to serve us), coffee was cold cup after cup, etc. You can tell it all left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended!) after all these years.

They love it. We've been before and I thought it was fine. I had crab legs the one time I went and they were very good.

Breakfast there is good. I wonder if Pete has ever been.

I remember the days when Shutters would have been vying for the number one spot - at least for Kevin and John.

How the times have changed

I totally was thinking the same thing about Shutters... Went when we stayed at CBR back in 2009 and the food was not good. Hearing better things about it now.

I had no idea that Boatwright's would be on the list. When we stayed at Port Orleans last year the place was packed and I couldn't get a reservation for our resort day! I'm kinda glad we missed it now!

Since I like Grand Floridian Café, I think that this bodes well for the restaurants at the resorts overall! :) It was a fun listen!
