Top 10 Signs You Are Addicted to Disney aka You Know You Need Help When...

Yup, I'm guilty too! How about: you try to convince all of your friends and family to go on vacation at the same time so that they can experience the magic with you! I wish I could convince my husband to buy into DVC!!! Knowing that I have a trip booked keeps me happy on a daily basis. If I know I'm going.....I'm happy! It doens't matter how many times I've been...I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH!

OMG!!! Thank you! I know there are plenty of loyal and faithful Disney lovers out there (thus this website), but I have often wondered if anyone was as bad as I am. :scared1: Just the constant thinking and re-living of Disney moments - it's like an all day thing!!

The one about your friends thinking you are their free Disney travel agent is perfect! I helped a co-worker out with his first Disney trip a few years ago, and now he goes twice a year! Look what I have created!:scared:

Thanks to all who have made me feel better, and have made me feel not alone! It sure helps!!

Keep the Top Ten list going!!!

Love this thread!! We've been laughing like crazy in my house but I have a few to add...

# You know the exact slice of pavement where you can see the fireworks/parade and have actually claimed it as YOUR spot and declare it as such to anyone you know planning a trip like a top CIA secret. Shhh! I can't tell you mine...lol

# YOU can guide the Disney reservations staff through any problems booking your trip because in most cases you have more "training" than them.

# When you call Disney, they chuckle before rattling off the standard "I see you've stayed with us "X" number of times" because of how high the number is.

# You begin counting your total lifetime days spent on property in months if not years.

# Your family refers to your touring plans as the "death march" yet insists that you are the one who should plan.

here is another one to add to the list:

your (my) entire wedding plans revolve around your disney world honeymoon ie when is the best time to go the parks (not, when is my church available, when can i get off from work, etc) or how i should cut my hair to look good with minnie mouse bride ears?

you secretly hate other people who went to disney world without you and harass them to let you see their vacation pictures and make them give you detailed reviews of every single thing they did/ate/saw

I listen to Disney cds playing in the car. Right now I have Lou's guides to Main St & Adventureland playing - it's great to dream that I'm on my way to WDW instead of to work.

I'm going crazy waiting for my copy of Celebrations mag to come so I can have new pictures and articles to enjoy.

Like my fellow Disers, I spend alot of time on the boards :surfweb: when I should be doing housework.

I continue to buy guidebooks even though I don't really need them.

I feel better to know I'm not the only one sooooo obsessed!

Today my DS21 said "After I get my teaching degree maybe I will move to Florida, I heard there are lots of teaching jobs in Florida." So, the 1st thing that comes to mind is Yes!!! Make it the Orlando area then I have an excuse to go to WDW more often. Of course after I thought about it for awhile, I thought... oh no I don't want my "baby" moving so far away.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! They sound just like me!

My DH just doesn't understand, but he should, his addiction isn't Disney, but rather Oklahoma Sooner football. He plans trips to the games, contemplates BCS rankings, Spring Training--you would think he's a recruiting agent b/c he's constantly scouting. So, I guess what I'm saying is, everyone has a little obsessive compulsive behavior, ours is just Disney!! :goodvibes

* YOu plot and plan all of your ADR's, have a special list for them, make changes, reconfigurate..

*You find clips of Disney music on Youtube and dance in your computer chair

We must all be related!
We too took advantage of the 4/3 promo and were actually not planning to go to Disney in 2009. However, my kids point out "mom, you always say we're not going and then we always end up going anyway." (well, they're not going this trip so I'm not telling them till I absolutely have to).
The whole moving to Orlando plan has been in our future plan for a while now. Youngest DD is in high school, we say we're moving once she graduates. Hope we can hold off that long. The newspaper where DH and I both work had second round of layoffs yesterday! :scared1: And since newspapers are kind of like dinosaurs anymore, we both realize we may have to hunt for new careers. That realization has launched our plan to either work for Disney or somewhere in Orlando so we can spend our weekends in the parks!:woohoo:

What a great thread!!! So nice to see that there are other people that are just as obsessed...:rotfl:

#you order a vacation planning DVD EVERY YEAR...(even though you know enough to make your own...)

This thread is so great!
Here's one we have to list:

# After sending the last kid off to college you and your DH plan on buying a Harley to ride on all trips to WDW, that way none of the children can tag along! :rotfl:

I love this. I am not crazy!!!! My family thinks I am but I am not crazy!!! How about these.....
*****you find a way to bring disney into every conversation you have with
everyone that will talk to you
*****you dream up jobs at disney for your entire family so you all can move
to the happiest place on earth

I am truly glad that I am not alone!!! I have always guessed I was a little "odd", but it was proven last week! Went to a DH's business dinner with salesmen from out of state. There were about 15 people at the table when one said-congrats, I hear you have great news! My response-yeah we are going to Disney the first week of Feb...........then he came back with-no, I was talking about Nursing school, heard you just graduated........:rotfl2: me: oh yeah, 2 weeks ago.........2 weeks ago it was a big deal, now all I can think about is Disney.....now trying to plan when to take boards, have so much going on-Thanksgiving, Christmas, Disney trip(leave 1/30), hhhmmm with all this planning, when can I study!!!

I just hope they never find a cure.

18. You try talking your spouse into moving to Orlando so you can go to Disney every day and actually take vacations to other destinations. I keep getting told there are other places that I need to visit...I don't believe them.

She can't fool me.

Yes, I am also addicted to WDW and to the DisBoards.......

...When DH calls my cell phone...it plays the Mickey Mouse Club theme song!

....When my son calls my cell phone it play Goofy's voice!

...At work I have the Disboards constantly downsized on my computer.

...When my DH wanted to buy some land, at home in Ohio, I said we can't
because I want to retire to Orlando.

....I called DH this morning and woke him up, (he works 2nd shift) because I
was so excited that I had rec'd my first pin code ever!!

I have heard that the only cure for these addictions, include a 5 step program.....

Step 1...Plan a trip to WDW in the winter!
Step 2...Plan a trip to WDW in the spring!
Step3...Plan a trip to WDW in the fall!
Step 4...Plan a trip to WDW in the summer!
Step 5....Just give up and move to Orlando!!

I too have a problem and I know there isn't a cure! ;) We just got back from a week at the World and I already wish we were back or could go back. Probably won't be able to go for another couple of years :sad1: but Disney is always in my heart! All of these previous posts pertain to me as well! (Dis is always downsized on my computer at work and then I check it when I get home at night on the laptop! :rolleyes1 My DH always said I needed a support group (hello, my name is Vicky, I'm addicted to anything Disney..Hi Vicky, we love you! :lmao: )but after this last trip, I'm bringing him over to the dark side! :rotfl: We had a private dinner at the GL for our anniversary. I've been there before (never stayed, but it would be a dream to be able to someday :cloud9: ) but my DH had never seen it. While waiting for our butler, my DH said to me, we have to figure out a way to save up more money next trip so we can stay here! :lovestruc

...when you watch live streaming video feeds from Disney fan's resort webcams all day...and night!
:lmao:
