Tootsie rolls, butterfingers, and APPLE SLICES?! Halloweentime at the DLR

Whenever I have to wake up early, I always set up multiple alarms. The night before my aunt said that everyone (including me) had to be out the door by 7:45am because she was going with Lucas on a field trip to the pumpkin patch and wouldn't be able to come back to put the security alarm on. So I set my cell phone alarms to 6:30, 6:45, and 7am. Well the only reason I got up 7am is because the kids were up and making lots of noise. Lucas and Carina (younger ones) kept asking me "Are you going to Dinneyland?" or "Are you going on vacation". Seriously they are the cutest things! So I got up, got dressed, and picked up my sleeping area. I plugged in my straightener to late so I barely got to do my hair. I just made sure it wasn't a complete mess .

So we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. According to my directions I had to take the 60 west to the 57 South. OMG there was SOOOO much traffic. I thought taking the 5 south was bad, these were like ten times worse! :headache: I didn't make it to the Mickey and Friends parking garage until 9:20am! When I pulled it, it was FULL of cars. That was NOT a good sign

I arrived onto Main St. after 9:30am and I realized about half way to Disneyland that I FORGOT my camera
cry.gif
I was so distraught. This may be the only time I get to go during Halloweentime and I was not going to let anything ruin it! There were several characters on Main St. and no photo pass photogs ANYWHERE. So I stepped into Mad Hatter and bought a disposable camera. It cost me nearly $20
eek.gif
I nearly fainted... before I handed over my credit card

What?! You expected me to miss out on taking pictures of these awesome decorations? You must be crazy

I was determined to make this solo trip the best because it was definitely not planned. So I decided to do all the things I can't do with other people in tow. First on my list, character photos!

Mickey Mouse in his Halloween suit (photo N/A yet)TBA
Chip/Dale? (N/A yet)TBA

Minnie Mouse in her Halloween dress!
(this isn't the real photopass picture, I used the "print screen" function and cropped the rest of the screen out. I can't wait until next week to upload the "real" thing);)

Main St. was SOOOO crowded! Some organization with the slogan "Dreams take Flight" was there with several hundred people. They were in black and red jerseys and used a duck whistle. It was pretty cool to see but I don't like crowds! :guilty:

Up next: The park actually opens

You guys look so cute in your picture. I hope this means you feel better.

Feel better fast!!! I'm so eager to read your TR!! popcorn::

I'm starting to get some relief! Oh and I updated! I like to separate my thoughts in different posts so I'll be continuing in several short ones. If it's too long and without pictures my eyes start to hurt

Are you better yet? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? :hyper:

Come on! Get better! Like, soon!

I'm almost there! :flower3:

Yes, I'm starting to feel some relief from this cold. I no longer have the sore throat but I do have a cough and runny nose but they aren't so bad.:thumbsup2

Once the park was officially opened I went against the Dangermouse manifesto, I didn't do Peter Pan first! :sad2: Although I was wary of going against my gut instincts, I was okay with my decision. I thought to myself "I'm going to take it easy". So I went over to get on Haunted Mansion and it was closed! So I walked onto Pirates. From there I rode BTMRR but not before snapping a few pictures of the Dia De Los Muertos calaveras (aka Skelletons). After BTMRR, I decided I would finally make it to Big Thunder Ranch!

I saw Woody's Halloween Round Up and loved it! I love the "sponsor", Cowboy Crunchies, commercials. It made me laugh. I was lucky to get pictures o fthe show and later with Woody and Jessue. Finally after the show a photo pass photographer showed up. I posed at the entrance of ranch and he so kindly offered to give me a VIP tour of and take pictures of me through out the ranch. It was great!

After the show and pictures, I went through Fantasyland without getting on a single ride. It was SO crowded! The charity Organization, Dreams take Flight, took over the park but they were nice. One of their counselors took my picture in front of the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main St.

I was now back on Main St. and I decided to watch the 50th Celebration movie with Steve Martin. It was very interesting and I'm glad I was finally able to see it. So after that I was feeling particularly famished so I trekked to Haunted Mansion got a fast pass (I already had one for Indiana Jones in pocket :thumbsup2) and ate at River belle Terrace. The food prices have gone up, haven't they? For a sandwich, soda and fruit it cost me $18!

I was now headed out of Disneyland to DCA. But first I had to make a stop that the Silhouette Shoppe to have my silhouette done and only because it was a tip on the Disneyland Vlog. And the same lady on the vlog was working today! My mom wanted my sisters and I to get our silhouettes done in Disney World but we didn't want to do it. So I thought I'd either give it to her at home or wiat until Christmas but I doubt I can wait (I didn't!). I had the artist add Mickey in it, too. It's very cute!

So it was a little after noon and I was off to DCA.

Coming up: DCA!

Love it!!!!! Wow, sorry about forgetting the camera though. I'd have paid the 20 bucks too. No way can I be at Disney without a camera.

You are looking good girl! I like your tee.

The silhouette came out good! Maybe I'll get one done next time I go.

More, more, more!! :yay:

Hey Cristabel!

I'm catching up.

So far you are doing a great job on your TR!

Take care and get better soon!! :flower3:

Hi!

Ohhhhh, I love the siloutte! I was watching that TV show tonight about the family with the 17 kids and they went to Disneyland and had the silouette thingys.. too funny. I love those things. I had them as a kid and my kids have them, too, when they were little'er. Now that I've seen how cute yours is I think maybe I'll do one for us again next time!

I love the pic of you and Minnie in her Halloween gear. Thanks for being creative and posting hte screen pic. It's great to see photo's!

I have also been a vicitim of the forgotten camera. Back in 1991 the camera was $18. So while the camera hasn't gone up much, I agree with you that the food DEFINITELY has! :headache:

Looking forward to more!
Melissa

Thank you, Beth! I'm hoping to get back to the exercise thing once my lungs stop hating me :lmao: You should SO have your kids do the silhouette when you go next time ( I know you have no projected date yet:sad2: ) but she can do up to three in one small one I believe. It's $9 per silhouette so they charged me $9 for Mickey! The artist is amazign! She does it like *that* (snaps).

Hey Cristabel!

I'm catching up.

Thank you! I'm trying to get better but my body is rebelling!

I should be getting MY film photos on Saturday so I'll add them in accordingly. Thanks for reading, it means a lot! :goodvibes

As I walked into DCA, I had a photog take my picture hoping to capture the decorations on the Golden Gate bridge. He did a poor job :sad2:

My first stop was taking a picture with Minnie in her candy corn dress in Candy Corn Acres! Sadly the photog scanned the wrong pictures and now I have some strange family on my card and my picture is nowhere to be seen. I don't even think I took a picture with my own camera :sad1:

I was feeling so parched (just for you hound!;) ) after that I bought a vitamin water and a regular water. I chugged that vitamin water from the fruit stand next to Shmoozies to Monsters. Oh, teh perks of being solo! Being a filler for rides is great! From theri I meandered to the Animation Studio. In animation academy we drew Jack Skellington. That day was the 15th anniversary of Nightmare before Christmas. Since Stephanie couldn't make it, after the class ended I went down and asked one of the CMs if I could have the artist's copy for my friend. He went to the "secret room" and asked the CM who worked with our class. He gladly obliged. It made me very happy! I used my phone to take pictures of the many different movie scenes in the main room. Unbeknowest to me, I would never see those pictures again :sad1:

I then walked back to Sunshine Plaza and I saw a lady on a scooter goign the opposite direction. I heard her talking to her the other girls walking alongside her and she sounded familiar. I thought for a minute and then turned and called "Lynn?!". Yes, it was indeed her (disneegrl4eva)! I'm so glad I ran into a DISer! It never happens! She was there with her own daughter and in tow for the time being was another DISers', matterhorn, daughter. So we chatted for a bit, both of us upset about the heat. She was goign to MTOTP the following night and was on her way now to the TOT. So we went our separate ways. Here I was in a bug's land resting in the surprising comfortable yellow bouncy seats! I sat there, keeping a log of events on my phone to help me with my trip report. I thought about what to do and decided to head over to TSMM, but not before getting another drink. I was just sweating buckets. Ick! So I bought another vitamin and regular water. I finally took the Mission Tortilla Tour and my free tortilla was yummy! I walked by TSMM and asked about the single rider line but they were short staffed and it wasn't open. So I did single rider Mullholland Madness and this girl was freaking out and so was the guy but that was because he nearly lost his phone. I wasn't sure if I should do GRR because although I did have a shirt to change into for that night, I didn't have bottoms and no one likes wet denim. All I could think of was wet denim = chafing. OUCH! :headache:

Coming Up:
My phone went Soarn'

Not your phone!!!! :scared1:

A CM gave the artists picture to a little boy that was sitting a few chairs down from me. The little boy was getting frustrated because he couldn't draw the picture. So lesson learned, next time I'm gonna throw a fit so I can get a good drawing!

yes, my beautiful phone. OH THE AGONY! :scared:

I was so surprised he didn't give it away to a kid.

I was feeling so parched (just for you hound! )

Thanks. :thumbsup2

Although us hounds don't get "parched".....we get dehydrated :snooty: ;)

:rotfl:

Great report. :hippie: Looking forward to reading about the Soarin' phone.

:)

How fun to catch up with another Dis-er! I love that Lynn's siggie.. always so cute!

Sorry your pictures went all screwy and your phone is somewhere over California..... Some-WHERE over California (sung to somewhere over the rainbow)... :rotfl: Oy! It's late... I'm exhausted.

Keep up the good work!

Halloween-Minnie-Mouse.gif

How cool that you ran into Lynn!!

That sucks you were charged $9 for Mickey!

OMG, your phone!!!!

Cristabel! I'm loving your TR! I can't wait for more!!!!

OMG. What happened to your phone? I would have cried if I was at DLR solo and my phone died/broke/got lost... Ahh! You poor thing!

So I'm heading to Soarn' on my way out and decide to take advantage of the single rider line. I head in and wait for a bit before they let me into the row two of the left side. I was looking through my phone and somehow it slipped out of my hand and went flying...CRASHING into the floor. I quickly grabbed it and it appeared that my memory card popped out, so I pushed it back in and went to look at my pictures and it said "ERROR. UNABLE TO FORMAT!" So after many tries, it looks like all the pictures on that BRAND NEW 2GB memory card was gone; corrupted :sad2: That's when I started to be more cautious of what I took pictures of. I wasn't about to go buy another $20 camera.

I headed back to Disneyland because I totally forgot that my mom wanted me to find her a Halloween t-shirt. I checked the emporium, Disney Clothiers, and some other shop but nobody had a cute halloween tee. It was around 4pm at the time and I was HUNGRY! So I asked the CM at the wait boards if Hungry Bear restaurant was open and it had just closed at 4pm. Shucks, I missed it again! Although Space Mountain only had a 10 minute wait, which is really saying a 10 minute walk, I was too tired to go up there. So I walked to Tomorrowland train station and waited for the train. I decided that I would take the train around to fantasyland station. Maybe get in a few rides, definitely not Peter Pan though. That line alone gives me anxiety! Waiting for the train I thought to myself, what's more precious than a little princess...picking her wedgie! :lmao:I was trying not to laugh at the little girl.

So I took the train and ended up getting of at NOS and rode HMH and ate dinner at Rancho Del Zocalo. It was decent and I was very hungry!

Up next:
A certified Organic dancing banana!

Did you see the Day of the Dead decorations at the mexican restaraunt? They look so cool.

Sorry to hear about your camera.. that is SO CRAPPY! :scared:

For you: :flower3:

The Princess wedgie... :lmao:

I have to share this with you. This was taken at Legoland. I saw these two and I wanted to take their picture SO BADLY so I pretended to ask a legoland CM a question (some fake question) so that I could aim the camera at them without being noticed... Wicked, I know. ;) (-MC)

Excuse me... where is the blah blah blah blah?

Zoom-In

Yes indeed, she is clipping his rogue eyebrows
