Tooth Fairy ???

DD will be 5 the end of April & I am guessing will loose a tooth soon, something she is anxiously awaiting! We will be at Disney in May & I thought of getting her a Glass Slipper & Disney Dollars for under her pillow when the Big Night finally arrives! Now, since this is a little out of the ordinary, am I setting myself up for too many questions? I think I will cry when the time actually comes, she is my first born, & still so very innocent, I just don’t want to mess anything up!

Since the Tooth Fairy, just like Santa consults Mom's and Dad's maybe not too much trouble at home.

Could get a little sticky at school, but so does my neighbor whose Tooth Fairy gives her kid $10 for each tooth and here at home our Tooth Fairy is a little more budget conscience at $5 for the first and then a varied amount for the rest.

I think it is a great idea, the Tooth Fairy knows some real personal stuff, your DD must be very special

My daughter just lost her first tooth last week and she got 20 dollars and atooth fairy pillow from disney world that the three fairies on it and a pocket to put lost teeth in. She is 6 and went absolutely nuts about the pillow.

We also have a birthday fairythat comes to our house and decorates with streamers and balloons and leaves presents the morning of your birthday. sinceshe stared school this has become a sticky situation with other children who have no idea what the birthday fairy is. Our usual response is i dont know why the birthday doesnt visit there house, but be happy she visits yours

Wow is the tooth fairy cheap at our house! DD5 just lost her first tooth and got a half dollar under her pillow, and got to keep her tooth. She wrote a note to the fairy asking if she could keep it for when she's an "old lady" and has no teeth left. I say whatever you want to do you should do!

I agree that you should do whatever you feel is right. My kids get $5 a tooth from the toothfairy. My brother and SIL were not happy with us for starting that one (my nephew is 9 months younger than DS1.)

We have friends that gave a big present for the first and then change for the other teeth. Sometimes stickers or a book...whatever they have on hand. LOL

do what ever makes you and your daughter happy. They are young and innocent for such a short space of time. Loosing a first tooth is a landmark in growing up. I think its lovely that you have thought so well about it.
Make it speacial !!

I expect people will think my DD is spoilt , however we have just given her a mini pink digital camera ( £30) in exchange for her leaving her potty for the "potty fairy" to give to another baby. She was desperate for a camera, and although a digital sounds posh, its cheaper for us to print the photos.( plus we can delete all the ones with fingers over the lenses etc LOL) She cant wait to take it to Orlando ( we go in Oct) so she has time to practice.

My DD was 6 when she lost her first tooth. She got $1 for that. Now she's 9 and lost her second molar. She got sixty cents for that. I have never been worried about what other parents give their kids since financial situations vary differently. I'm a single mom and have trouble paying bills. My DD is happy to get anything.

My son also had a loose tooth before we went to WDW and I was hoping he would lose it there. I had some glitter "pixie dust" all ready for the occasion and was going to place it under his pillow along with some Disney Dollars and tell him that Tinker Bell takes over the tooth fairy duties when you're at the world! Unfortunately, he managed to hold on to it until we got home.

Maybe you could add that to your glass slipper (which I think is a really cute idea, BTW!).

Wow I hope my kids don't read this thread all they ever got and my son still gets is one of those dollar coins you get from the vending machines at the post office- tooth fairy only gives coins you know!

That is so sweet. I say go for it. They only lose that first tooth once. Why not make it special. My children got $5 for the first tooth, and $1 for each tooth after that. DD had a little round (cedar) toothfairy box when she was little. She has passed it on to her little brother because she has lost all of ther baby teeth.

Does your daughter know what the toothfairy does with the teeth? She gives them to the newborn babies!
