Too much luggage for rental car

I am planning on going at the of July - there are 7 of us. I was hoping for a surburban but so far the largest I have found is an Expedition. No even sure if the suburban would have held all the luggage but I know the expedition wont hold 7 full size suitcase behind the 3rd seat. So I was thinking on Ubering my luggage to the hotel. Does anyone know how much an uber would cost from the airport to Aulani? Or is there a shuttle service from airport to Aulani?

We are spending the first part of the trip on Waikiki and have transfers from the airport to the hotel there - so the luggage won't be a problem.

Since I am planning on having the car the entire time (Oahu/Aulani) - I figure I could transfer people / luggage the first part of the trip and then Uber/shuttle the luggage the second part of the trip.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Ship a couple suitcases to Aulani. We shipped a 56 lb suitcase to AKV recently for about $100 shipgo.com. It was waiting for us when we arrived. We shipped some heavy/bulky items home via usps in the one price boxes. The best part was we traveled with one carry on, a tote and a backpack.

Jeeze what the heck do you people fly with?

Rent a second vehicle from Alamo, which you can return at Aulani itself (or at least you used to be able to pre-COVID).

I would Uber the people, not the luggage. Have one driver take all the bags to the resort. You can get an estimate on the Uber app. Just enter the locations from point to point insead of your current location. Keep in mind, pricing is dependent on supply & demand. So I can stand outside Lincoln Field in Philly and get an estimate but later when an Eagles game is all letting out, it will be a lot higher.

7 full sized suitcases for 7 people strikes me as... excessive. With a party that size, I assume you're staying in a DVC villa? If so, take advantage of the washer and dryer and pack less.

You know what they say when you assume...
The OP doesn't mention staying in a DVC villa so don't assume it.
Not everyone wants to just wear a bathing suit all week. Maybe they have dressy clothes for a special dinner or a wedding.
Not everyone wants to do laundry on vacation. Just because I stay at a resort with a full kitchen, doesn't mean I have to cook.

My packing list includes six silk shirts in dry cleaner bags and at least four pairs of shoes. I still don't come anywhere near a full size suitcase just for myself.

Not sure why you felt the need to come at me with a nasty attitude. OP asked for suggestions, so I offered one, which he or she can take or leave. You, on the other hand, offered no suggestions of your own, merely an attack on mine.

I dont pack as much as the OP either but I didnt come at her with the ‘Jeeze, what’s wrong with you people?’attitude. I only reminded you that the OP didn't fully explain all aspects of the trip. Just because YOU stay at DVC resorts with access to W/D and like doing laundry on vacation, doesn’t mean EVERYONE does. Live and let live. It would be nice if you just answer the OP’s question with helpful advice.
If you don’t want snarkiness back at you, don’t give any.

Thanks for all the advice - but maybe I should have clarified there are members from 3 families and we will gone for 2 weeks - Aulani being the last stop, so unless we choose to do laundry mid trip (not my idea of a vacation) there will be 7 suitcases

I couldn't figure out the car rental, with needing car seat along with 9 people's luggage, for our Feb trip so we went with Mears Connect.

Does everybody need to ride in the same vehicle with the luggage? How about sending a couple with their luggage via taxi to/from the airport.

You might want to consider 2 or 3 cars. That would also give people the chance to split up on sightseeing. One group might like to be sightseeing all day while the other would turn back after lunch. Or you could have a more active and less active group.

Hawaiian Van Rental is a company / site that will let you search for larger vehicles, including full-size SUVs as well as 12- and 15-passenger vans. If I were in your spot, I would just keep looking and book the best car I could find....even if a couple people had to carry luggage on their lap for the drive to/from the airport, I'd rather do that than rent multiple cars or deal with Ubers and shuttling back and forth.
