Teppan-Edo dinner

As I said before, this was one of the best meals of the trip. Not only the food, but the experience was awesome as well. We originally had ADR's for Chefs de France this night, but I hadn't heard the best reviews here on the boards. So, weeks before I tried to switch to Teppan Edo, with no luck. So, we canceled our Chefs de France reservation and tried a walk up for Teppan Edo and got in within 15 minutes. I was pretty excited.

So, we sat with two families of three, and they were all very nice. I was a little hesitant at first to take pictures until one of the other women at our table started doing the same thing. I wonder if she is on the disboards too. First off were the drinks.

I had a Tokyo Sunset. I know there was Coconut Rum and pinapple juice but I don't know what else. It was sooo good.

DH had a coke.

For an appetizer both DH and I got edemame. (Young soy beans) I had never tried these before and was expecting them to be like pea pods. They were much better and had alot more flavor.

Before we were done with appetizers, our chef came out. He was funny and kept picking on me, and only giving me one piece of food at a time. Lol.

The complete dish. It was so good. I was still hungry for more after I finished.

DH got the filet mignon, big surprise.

Onto dessert-I decided to play it safe and get chocolate ice cream.

Surprisingly picky DH wanted to try the green tea pudding. He said it didn't really have a tea flavor to it, which he liked. Despite the strange look of this dessert, DH really liked it.

DH loved this restaurant, between the food and the presentation of the food he thought it was awesome that I knew about this restaurant. (Thanks disboards) He's begging me to do this restaurant again next trip, and I think we might just have to!

Thanks! We thought SSR was beautiful, but way too big for us. I felt like we did more walking here than at the parks. lol We can't wait to stay at our home resort AKV though. I notice you have the same home resort!

I'm looking forward to the Ohana breakfast and Plaza reviews! We're trying both of these on our next visit.

Before I continue onto Ohana I forgot about some of the snacks we had after Teppan Edo. We went to the bakery in France and DH got an eclair. I got a cheese plate and a cookie. (What can I say I love to eat) The cheese plate was ok, but the bread that came with it was hard as a rock. The cookie was good though.

So the next morning for breakfast we had an ADR at Ohana's. I booked this because I love Stitch and had to see him! Our monorail had technical difficulties that morning so we ended up being about 20 minutes late, luckily they sat us after being there for 5 minutes.
First our server brought us our Lilokoi juice. I love this stuff! I wish I could buy it at home it so sweet and yummy.
Next, the bread and fruit. I love the pineapple bread, warm soft and very sweet. I ate every piece.

As we were waiting for our food Mickey and Pluto came by.

Then came the hot food. It was all good, nothing out of the ordinary but good. Besides I was waiting for Stitch!

Next came Lilo

Now let me say that at this point we had been at the restaurant for about 45 minutes. They say that it takes the characters an hour to come all the way around, so I figured that I could wait another 15 minutes or so to see Stitch since that's why I booked.
So we waited and waited while Stitch went to a huge table with about 10 kids and the family took tons of pictures, autographs, videos, etc. Finally, our table was going to be next and Stitch skipped to the next table. I reasoned that we would be the next ones but no he completely missed our table. DH tried to call after him but he just kept going, to the other side of the room. I looked around for our server to try to tell her that Stitch had missed us but alas she was nowhere to be found. After waiting so long, I didn't get the opportunity to see him. We got up and left, I was so disappointed.

So food here was good but next time we go I better get to see Stitch!

Yikes! I'm so bummed that you didn't get to see Stitch! We have ressies for Ohana breakfast because my DH loves Stitch...he'll be seriously bummed if Stitch skips us. The breakfast looks delicious--great pictures!

That's awesome, I'm so jealous! Luckily, later in the week I spotted Stitch at The Animation Studio at DHS and got a picture with him! So it made up for not seeing him at breakfast.

He was. This was in 06 and he still talks about that moment. And Sleeps with his stitch shhhhh it's a secret. He's 9 now and that is for babies lol

Wow I'm really enjoying reading your report and all the wonderful food!!!! I decided to go to Yatchsman instead of Teppan Edo but I'm going to have to get back there sometime from all the reviews the restaurant is amazing!

I think I'll have to add Edo onto our list. We are BIG Tokyo dining people. Love it there but I suppose we could double up on Japan!
