January 25th...still

Tangierine Cafe

Yum yum yum. Originally DH and I had planned to do Sunshine Seasons this day for lunch. However since we were in the world showcase and hungry we decided to give this place a shot. I got the chicken platter with an extra side of hummus, baklava and a bottled water. I now have to say that this is one of my favorite quick service meals at Disney. The chicken was delicious not an ounce of fat on it, and I loved the hummus. The baklava was good, very rich and I didn't get to finish it all. DH wasn't all that hungry, and being the picky eater he is I got an "ewww your going to eat there" from him. But, he ended trying my chicken, then the couscous and the hummus. And guess what? He loved it too. So overall this is definetly a must do place next time!

I know here I sit eating macaroni and cheese drooling over my own pictures. :lmao:

Mmmmmm....Baklava good. :faint: I love their baklava!

Really enjoying the post...subbing!

Tangierine Cafe
This was one of the BEST 'new things we tried' this past Sept. We LOVED it! DH and I split the combo plate (chicken and lamb) and it was soooo good. ::yes::
Loving your reviews! ;)

January 25th Dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe

We were really looking forward to this restaurant and DH was excited about the antics. However when we got there, we were sat in the very very back of the library. The most our server did was toss our napkins down, thats it. :confused3 We were really bummed about this. Next time I think we will request a table in the middle of the action. But onto the food-

First I ordered the chocolate milkshake. This was delicious, probably one of the best milkshakes I've ever had.

DH just got a coke, he gets a coke pretty much everywhere.

For my appetizer I ordered the southwestern chicken soup. I'm not much for spicy foods but this wasn't too spicy so I liked it.
828.jpg

Since DH wanted the skillet he got the salad for his appetizer. He doesn't really care for salad but he had a few bites and wasn't thrilled with the apple vinegrette dressing.
829.jpg

Oh yes and the delicious corn bread. I'm a sucker for corn bread. :)
827.jpg

So like I said DH got the canyon skillet with potatoes, corn, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, cole slaw & beans. He loved just about everything. Especially the pulled pork and cole slaw. He got seconds of both of these.

I wasn't as hungry as DH so I got the roast chicken. This was just alright, very juicy. Personally I like the chicken from Boston Market better. The potatoes were good as well. I didn't touch my veggies, but hey I was on vacation. ;)
831.jpg

We were both way too stuffed for dessert that night so we got it to go. I got the smores cheesecake and DH got the apple caramel pie. I wish I could tell you how these were but they just sat in our fridge all week, we were always too full to eat them. They looked good though!

Up next, breakfast at Boma.

Ya know, after reading your review of Tangerine Cafe and seeing the picture of your meal, I really want to give it a try! It looks DELISH!

Whispering Canyon is a blast and that totally stinks that yall had a server that wasn't too "into it". If you and DH go back, hopefully you get to sit in the middle of the action!

We are going to try WCC again in November, we will make sure we ask for a "fun" server this time!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Tonight I'm going to try to add a few more reviews.

We went in September and had a "not fun" server as well. I also think she was new--we were there for two hours. We were stuck way out in the back room and heard none of the antics going on in the main room. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food either--thought it was terrible--DH got sick. We are going to maybe try breakfast but not this year.

Great updates - and, just so you know, the Smores cheesecake is delicious. Shame you didn't get to eat it :sad2:

I'm really enjoying your reviews and pictures. The Turf Club looks really good and I can't wait to try it on our next trip (we're staying at SSR for the first time). Looking forward to the rest.

January 26th
Boma-breakfast

This was a last minute reservation that I snagged after many great reviews here on the boards. So I was very excited to try this buffet! Well let me say, it did not disappoint. DH and I loved Boma! :thumbsup2
Lets start off with the famous Frunch. Mmmmm...
839.jpg

My first plate, I believe I had a corn muffin, a sticky bun, a chocolate chip muffin and some fruit. Just like Stacy says "yummy, yummy, yummy" Everything was good.
835.jpg

Here's DH's first plate. He had a choc. chip muffin, cho. chip croissant, banana bread and some other kind of muffin.
836.jpg

Onto plate #2. I had a cheese omlet, scrambled eggs, bacon, a few pancakes, potatoes and some bobotie. Everything was delicious, except I wasn't so crazy about the bobotie just because I'm not a big sausage fan.
837.jpg

DH's plate #2 & #3. He had some brioche(like french toast), eggs, omelet, bobotie, pap, and a few other things that I don't recall the names of. He really stepped out this vacation, normally being a picky eater. He pretty much licked his plate clean, of everything!

This is going to be a must do for us from now on. Hopefully next time we can try dinner as well!

Pizzafari lunch
This is one of my favorite quick service restaurants on property. I got a Fanta, cheese pizza and a frozen lemonade. DH got a coke (big surprise), a pepperoni pizza, and a frozen strawberry lemonade. It was good as usual, however it just wasn't filling enough for DH. He's a big eater!
001.jpg

So, he then had to grab a jalepeno cheese filled pretzel. Not a snack credit but he really wanted to try one. He liked it, but not spicy enough for him.

Up next Narcoossee's :woohoo:
