We are going to the world in March for 2 weeks. Doing a split stay at BLT and BCV. There are 5 of us, 2 adults and kids 2, 7 and 9. We are on the DDP.

I booked all of our ADRs months ago, but have recently discovered the Mickey's Backyard BBQ starts in March! I always thought it started in April, for some reason. I think my kids would LOVE it, so I want to add it to our itinerary, but it is always SOOO packed and we have tonnes of character meals already booked. I could cancel something, but I don't know what I would cancel!

Here's a list of our ADRs, with MBYB added.. Does this seem like too much?? I know I'm gonna be over in my table service credits. What do you think? Too much? I could drop HDDR, but I think my kids would love this too.

My 2 cents, I was not crazy about the food at Tusker House. We went there because it was the only breakfast I could get with Mickey & friends, but I would not do that one again. The character interaction was great, but we ate next to nothing.

We just got back from a trip with our 12mo DD.

Pre-DD, we always did one or two TS a day. But, as adults only, we moved quickly in the parks and would stay from open to close.

On this trip, I found one TS a day to be plenty. They take a long time, and I felt they took away valuable ride/park time. Next time, we might do a TS every other day.

Two TS a day would be a lot for my DD, but that's just my opinion! Your kids are older so it could be different, that was just my experience this time.

Yeah, I agree. Most days are only 1 TS. A couple have 2, but one of them is a buffet, which I thought would be a lot easier than a regular table service.

I could drop HDDR

When comparing Backyard BBQ and Hoop Dee Do, well....there is no comparison. HDDR is MUCH better than the backyard BBQ. The food is better, the service is better and the entertainment is better.

I mean, the Backyard BBQ is fun, but not worth what they charge. THEN, by automatically adding 18% gratuity when all they did was seat me, then had the nerve to have a tip jar at the wine/beer station, lets just say I wasn't happy. I am all for tipping and overtip in almost every instance and I don't even mind auto gratuities. BUT, when it's a buffet where I serve myself, I threw away my own plates, I got my own drinks and dessert and literally all you did was walk me to my seat I don't think that warranted about $30 in gratuities.

In comparison, the service at HDDR has always been excellent.

Keep all of your plans for now. You can cancel or rearrange your ADRs as late as the day before they are scheduled without penalty, so you can wait and see how your family deals with sit down meals and then you can decide how many is too many.

I agree with LSUfan. HDDR is head and shoulders above MBBQ. And I wouldn't go both on the same trip.

Breakfast at Tusker is nothing special. Breakfast at character meals anywhere I've experienced is nothing special. Lunch/dinner is where you get the good and interesting stuff at Tusker.

Op given your use of "tonnes" I wonder if jet lag is going to negatively impact that first day and make it hard to enjoy the meals and surroundings for your first day plans.

We have no adr or parks on travel days.

I've read some reviews and decided to drop mickeys backyard bbq and stick with hddr. Thanks for you inputs!
