Hi, All!

I have a trip coming up on 06/07 with DD7. Through the course of several resort changes :rolleyes1, I had finally settled on POFQ for 7 nights. Then I extended the trip out to 10 nights. This weekend I've decided to extend it out another 2 nights - this is last date change! The new flight going home has been finalized.

I enjoy POFQ and have stayed there once before. DD has never been, but when I showed her all of her options, that is the one she really wants to stay at. I am familiar with the layout and like that if POFQ shares with POR for buses, FQ picks up an drops off first. I also like that it is a small resort.

That all being said, do you think that 12 nights at POFQ is too many? I'm now considering the possibility of moving to a different resort for the last 4 nights.

Thanks for any thoughts!

I usually stay about 10-11 nights, and I like to split it between POFQ and POR. 12 nights at POFQ could get boring, since it's so small and quiet. POR is great, has a fun main pool and 5 quiet pools, nice trails around the river and thru Ole' Man Island, and Yehaa Bob can be enjoyed by people of all ages. POR also has different entrees at the Food Court. If you catch the outgoing buses at POR from the Main Lobby bus stop, you have the best chance for a seat, in case you were worried about that. Since POR is in a circle, with bridges across the center, it's not far to walk to the lobby. When returning from the parks, exit at POFQ and walk to POR, or exit at POR lobby, then walk to your room from there.

Have a great trip!

I personally don't like to stay anywhere at WDW for more than a week, so we usually split our stay between 2 different resorts in 2 different locations. It makes it more fun for us, but some people really don't like the packing and moving.

You could do a 6 & 6 split. But one of the nice things about FQ is that you have 2 resorts at your disposal. POR is a short walk away, so if you get bored with the FQ pool, food court, etc, you can just walk over to Riverside. So you get 2 resorts in one!

I loved FQ when I stayed there a couple of years ago. I never ventured over to Riverside but took the boat to DTD several times. I don't think it is too long at all to call 'home' for 12 days. The only thing I can say negatively is I was not impressed with their food court options. However, that does not sway me from staying there again since there is easy access to the other resort and DTD

On our past trip last summer we stayed at POFQ for 14 nights and loved it. There was never a wait for buses and we spent a ton of time in the pool. I also had no problems with waits in the laundry room. We love it there and I am sure you willl too.

We're doing 18 nights at POFQ in September. Last year and the previous year we did 16. We stayed at POFQ right through with no split stay and loved it :thumbsup2

I love POFQ as well, and I don't think it would be too long a stay either!

Like a PP mentioned, my only complaint about POFQ is the food court - it's pretty small without a large variety of options. This probably isn't a huge deal for most people, but as a vegetarian I was really disappointed by the lack of options.

Anyways! As you know, it's a beautiful, laid back, relaxing resort, but I also think your trip is long enough that it might be cool to try out a resort that you haven't been to before.

Our family is going for ten nights this year to POFQ and it is because the resort is small and intimate that I feel comfortable staying this long. I know that my room, wherever it may be (come on bldg 4!) will be a reasonable walk to any where and I love the atomosphere. I think you would be fine- unpack and call it home! ;)

I can't believe so many people popped in. Thanks for all of your thoughts! :goodvibes

I feel better about staying at POFQ for the whole time. Like a couple of you have said, we can just hop over to POR when/if we feel the need for a change of scenery.

And I'm jealous of those people there for 14 and 18 nights!!!!

DISers are the best! :thumbsup2

If anyone gets tired of their resort after 6 or 7 days - and you want a change of scenery - come to PA, and I will go to your resort for you. You won't be tired of the same place any longer. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

You will be fine we stayed there for 2 week a few years back. We now stay at a value for 11 days.

You are too kind!!!!! I have such a tough life, huh?!? :rotfl2:

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also wanted to say that I have actually been to Wells, ME and really loved it there! My husband and I have been trying to make it back for a quick overnight again during one of our annual summer trips to visit my in-laws in VT/NH.

The added plus of staying at POFQ; is that POR food court is probably the best on-site, besides POP.

In addition, you can ride over to DTD and go to WPE or EOS; they both have some nice options for breakfast or lunch. When staying ten days, you don't have to do every day at the parks commando - you have the leisure of going to DTD and then going back to POFQ to hit the parks later.

Also, Olivia's at OKW is a lovely place for breakfast and the Turf Club at SSR is fabulous at lunchtime (both have decks over looking the water). Lovely ride on the water taxi to both and shopping at DTD is a blast.

I did an all resorts, no parks solo trip two years ago to POR and loved every minute of it.

Definitely try POR for several meals - they have TONS of choices there & it's a nice change from the POFQ dining. We loved taking the boat to DTD & POR - nice way to travel. We really enjoyed waking around the resort & enjoying the beauty. Have a great trip!

Personally, we've moved to another resort after a week. We enjoy moving because it feels like two vacations in one by going to a different resort!

This year, we're staying at POR for two days before going to BWV for a week. We're getting in late on our first night nd we plan on spending the day exploring the resort and going to DTD, so heading to the parks isn't priority right away.

My only advice should you decide to split your stay would be to always end your vacation at the nicer resort. Not to take anything away from POR (this wil be our first stay there!), but we are really looking forward to staying at BWV. The location can't be beat and I will do whatever I can to stay off the buses as much as possible. The buses are convenient, but I love having alternate methods of transportation at my disposal.
