Hey Everyone!

I've monitored this board for quite some time...I'm a huge Disney fan. Just was there last week running the Princess Half Marathon. Yay!

Anyway, my boyfriend and I aren't engaged, but he says it's coming REEEEAL soon. And when we were at Disney last week we decided, if we can make it work, we'd love to have a Disney World wedding.

Is it too late to plan/book a March 2010 wedding? Also, what are the first steps? Calling a consultant? This board has been extremely helpful thus far but I still have lots of questions.

Thanks!

No, it's not too late. It is perfect timing really. Call the Disney wedding line, they will take your information. Then a sales manager will contact you and work with you to find what date/location you want. Depending on the location you may not be able to sign a contract until the 8 month mark. If you choose a theme park location then you can sign at 12 months. After signing the contract then you will be assigned a wedding planner and the rest goes from there.

There are different managers for each kind of wedding, cruise, escape, and wishes. Just give them a call and they will sort you out.

definitely not too late. Caryndisneydiva planned her wedding in only a couple of months and I believe lurkyloo did also.

Thanks everyone! I'm just waiting for him to ask me..haha. I hoped he would do it in Walt Disney World but he knew I was thinking about it and he wanted it to be a total surprise...so we'll see!

I hope to be participating more on this board because I will finally be planning a Disney wedding!

definitely not too late. we planned our wedding in about 5 months so it can be done! How exciting!! :goodvibes

its not to late. There is a bride on here that planned her's in just a week to 3 weeks.

Actually, it's too early! I just called to book a March 2010 Escape wedding and I was told that Disney just recently changed its policy...now, instead of just Wedding Pavilion, ALL locations can be booked no more than 8 months in advance.

I haven't seen any mention of that detail on the boards, yet, but I called last week and I was told they'd call me in July (which is 8 months out from March '10). I was pretty bummed because I'm a Type A planner!

Hey there!!!! That is too funny, b/c when we were there for the race too, my sis who was running with me, is now considering a Disney wedding for next MArch (the weekend after the race -- gotta have time to heal.. LOL)

I think 8 mo. out is crazy.. i think they should be giving you at least a year. There is lots of other stuff to consider - don't they understand that??! For some people, they need to plan their vacations and such due to work schedules a year in advance, and other planning issues -- 8 mo. seems too short to me -- to give the family sufficent notice of plans.
