Too few days to switch resort?

My trip is next October and I really wanted to stay at AKL, Dh really wanted to stay at the Boardwalk and the rest of our group wanted to stay at the Poly.

We already have our reservations at the Poly, but after reading about people switching resorts, and that it wasn't hard, I have been thinking about doing a 2/2/1 of all three resorts.

Do you think that is too much switching?

During our Dec., 2002 trip we switched resorts three times in four nights. We spent one night at All Star Music, one night at PO Riverside in the Mansions, one night in Alligator Bayou and then moved on to the Dolphin for three nights before four-night cruise. Disney makes it very easy to relocate!

It sure would be for me.

You will risk being without a room between 11 and 4 (I think the times are correct) for each time you move. Are you comfortable being without easy access to your room and luggage for all that time?

Checking out and in again takes time - are you OK with losing park/swim/shop/relax time?

Are you OK with living out of the suitcase - if not you will be spending a lot of time packing and unpacking.

How about the rest of the group? How do they feel about it?

FWIW, if there are small children in your group, I wouldn't even consider it.

I'm sure others will have different opinions.

Best wishes -

Since you have a group, I would probably keep it to a maximum of 2 resorts in 5 nights.

What I would do is stay and BWI and Poly and visit AKL for dinner and animal viewing. Perhaps you could keep everyone happy with that plan.

Thats way too hectic IMHO. I resort hop every trip and although Disney does make it easy you do lose from 11 am - 4 pm everytime you move, just like Carol pointed out. I usually stay at least 4 nights at each resort before changing. You'll be spending more time checking everyone in & out then in the parks. I don't think your group will thank you. I would suggest leaving your resort as the Poly and visiting the other 2. If you like the looks of them, its a great incentive to return for a longer trip and split stay.

i really would not want to switch 3 times in such a short stay i would probably do 2 nights at one and 3 nights at another..whatever you decide you will have a great trip as you have picked 3 awesome resorts to choose from:)

IMO... you would be wasting valuable precious vacation time doing three check-ins. Once is enough for a short stay of five days.

Personally, once I'm pleased and settled in one room, I just want to relax and stay put. Then I can give my undivided attention to the parks, dining and all the other great stuff.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. Also the Poly should transfer your luggage over to the BWI, so all you have to do is show up to the resort to check in. I think Poly/BWI is a nice combo. You can do MK on the Poly days and Epcot/MGM on the BW days. I also think it's a nice idea to visit AKL before you stay there. I really thought I would want to stay at WL on our next trip, but after we visited it for dinner I realized the theming wasn't that appealing to me. We did visit the BWI and I was surprised at how much I liked it.
