Too Early to Pack???

My dh and myself leave in exactly 30 days and I am going to start packing this weekend. Just things that I won't be needing around like shorts, suntan lotion etc. I know my husband is going to be totally against this since he doesn't like to start packing until the day before. I was just wondering when everyone else starts to pack??

We started packing last night and will finish during lunch. We are leaving today at 3PM.

Wow, nothing like waiting until the last minute! I wish I could be that way, but unfortunately I have to have everything done at least the day before, or I will go crazy! Who am I kidding, either way I will either drive my husband crazy or myself. I vote for my husband!!

If am going on vacation I usually start a pile in the spare bedroom with the suitcase and as I think of odds and ends (suntan lotion, etc) I throw them in the suitcase. Maybe a day or two before I really get everything together and really pack.

Packing for my weekly biz trips is a whole other story. I usually leave on an early AM Monday flight. I frantically pack just before the taxi comes to bring me to the airport. Packing for a biz trip is the same every week. Three tops, three bottoms, one set of work out clothes and one pair of sneakers. I have a complete duplicate set of toiletries that never leaves my rollaboard so no need to scramble to collect bathroom items.

i would "start a pile"...not exactly put stuff in a suitcase.

I left a hooded sweatshirt in my suitcase my entire vacation (i packed the night before we left) and it smelled FUNKY when I used in on our last day.

I always pack my "toiletry" bag ahead of time though...basically because I stock it with 'extras' that i won't care if I have to leave behind for some reason.
