I'm trying to pick a new place to eat while at the MK in May. I've done the Castle, LTT and Crystal Palace so that only leaves me with Tony's or Plaza. Any preferences? Plaza looks a bit boring and I'm not sure about Tony's - I'd love to hear about people's experiences. It will be me, my mom and my son (1).

Thanks!

I prefer the Plaza. I understand why you think it seems a little boring, and I suppose it really isn't much more than a glorified counter service restaurant, but it's nice sometimes to sit in a restaurant for a while and be waited on -- even if the food is relatively basic. I find the atmosphere at the Plaza charming, and the sandwiches are fresh and tasty. Plus, the ice cream desserts are delicious!

I don't love Tony's and would not eat there by choice. None of the table service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom are particularly wonderful, but this one is probably the worst.

We love the Plaza. The have the BEST ice cream..not the best reason to go but it works for us..:thumbsup2 The Plaza is one place we try really hard to get ADRs at every year.
We used to like Tony's but the last 2 times we ate there it wasn't good at all. Service was slow, rude and unhelpfull. The meals themselves weren't terrible but not great either.
I know everyone has off days/nights but 2 years in a row??
Hope this helps. Good luck

We love the Plaza. We usually eat there twice on each trip. We ate at Tony's once, and it was fine, but we really liked the Plaza.

Tony's was by far the worst meal i've had in my entire 10 day trip. Its something about their tomato sauce, its so bad. I had the chicken parm, gross. My son had the spag & balls, again gross. I took a bite out of his meat ball and had to spit it back out. Its horrifying. :scared1:

Thanks everyone. Has anyone done LTT for lunch?

I've had LTT dinner (Thanksgiving style all you can eat FEAST), and its DELICIOUS!! I heard their lunch is great too! (lunch = order off the menu). :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. Has anyone done LTT for lunch?

We tried it last February and it was wonderful. The food was very good! The portions were good size and the service was also very good. My salad was so good that the server offered to get the recipe for the dressing for me. I just wish we could have had a few more days for our upcoming trip to squeeze this one in.

We ate lunch at Tony's on our last trip in Feb '11. It was very good. Service was spot on, couldn't ask for a more attentive server.
The food was very good. Was it top end...no, but it was not bad. Both of us enjoyed dining there and would again.

We have also eaten at LTT for dinner and loved it. The atmosphere is a bit "stiff"...not sure if it is to put you back in the "time" or what. Service was good, but it was so quiet compared to all other places.

I must say that the rolls and the ham were so good I didn't want to eat the rest of the meal. LOL

I voted for the Plaza even though I've never tried it; I've read great reviews. We tried Tony's last year and it was terrible. Service was slow after we got our meal, our server never came back to check on us except to bring our bill. No drink refills. Our meal arrived literally less than 5 min after we placed our order leading me to believe that pasta dishes are not made to order. My meal was disgusting. DH wasn't a fan of his chicken parm, wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I had a veggie lasagna and it was literally a pile of mush, couldn't discern what veggie was what or even see that there was a layering of pasta.

The only thing I actually enjoyed was the bread. They had really great garlic rolls.

We tried LTT for lunch in Sept and really enjoyed it. I got the salad, didn't enjoy the honey shallot dressing, but everything else was delicious. DH got the turkey plate and omg the stuffing was amazing. Service was great. Would return in a heartbeat.

We absolutely love The Plaza. Yes it's only sandwiches, but they are very good. However, the best part is the brownie sundaes.......Completely amazing!

Give it a try, you won't regret it. :thumbsup2

The Plaza is probably our favorite WDW restaurant. We LOVE it. It's our one must do for every trip. Great atmosphere, the food has always been delicious and fresh, and they have a really great kid's meal - my two love to eat there as well as dh and I, which is not always the case!

Are you on the dining plan? The reason I ask is that that is precisely why we have never eaten at the Plaza. I refuse to "waste" a TS credit on sandwiches and burgers. sorry, just my opinion

On the other hand, we have never had a bad dinner at Tonys'. Great no. Perfectly adequate, yes. We've eaten many times at LTT for lunch and dinner and have always really enjoyed ourselves. It's definitely our favourite TS at MK (especially since we no longer have little ones begging for character meals).

I really appreciate everyone's opinion. To answer a previous question, yes, I'm on the dining plan which is probably why I'm having such a hard time deciding but now I'm done to lunch at either Plaza or LTT and leaning more towards LTT.

I voted for Tony's Town Square because I personally liked ot better then The Plaza.

However I also been to the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and that has become my favorite table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom.

We love LTT and considered eating there for two meals during our next trip, but we decided to try out Tony's for one of the meals. We haven't tried The Plaza yet.

Tough choice as we always go to both. Plaza for a turkey club sandwich Tony's for the chicken parm.

Tony's DD got chic parm it was very good somehow several bites kept ending up on my fork.:confused3

I have never been to Tony's but we did LTT for lunch last June and ate at the Plaza last month. I thought they were both very good. I think it depends on what you are in the mood for..... which is very hard to predict when you have to make ADR's so early out.

I had the vegetarian sandwich and dh had the burger at the Plaza. Both were very good. The kids' menu was very good. Both of my boys enjoyed the soup, the meal, and of course the ice cream that looked like Mickey Mouse.

When we went to LTT I had the salad and dh had the roast beef sandwich. We also really enjoyed those items. I LOVED the salad.

If I HAD to choose, I would say LTT, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Plaza.

My thoughts exactly!
