Planning Session Trip Report!
June 6-June 15th

Since days 1 and 2 were basically traveling I have decided to combine them.

Day 1~Leaving for Florida

So starts my PS TR. I was so excited to leave to go to Florida but I HATE traveling. Any mode of transportation is torture for me but let me tell you I was not looking forward to the train!

The night before I got myself all packed up and made sure I had all of the things that I needed for my PS.

My suitcase. I hope I brought enough clothes!

These pictures and books turned out to be very valuable!!!

Now I had to have the perfect items for my train ride to make sure I was comfortable!

My Disney Princess Blanket
PlanningSession058.jpg

My Expedition Everest Yetti which was my "pillow"
PlanningSession059.jpg

My hoodie in case it gets chilly on the train.
PlanningSession060.jpg

and of course my Mickey Crocs!
PlanningSession061.jpg

Well now I was ready to go!!

So we left on Friday, June 6th and the limo came to pick up me, my mom and my aunt to take us to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station.

Here are some silly pictures of us in the limo.

My mom is the one in the black and white top.

What a bunch of dorks. Ok so we were off to Philly. Here are some pictures of Philly that I took from the limo.

Well we had never been on a train so we didn't really know the ropes. Did we check in, where do we check our bags. The Amtrak people are not the friendliest of folks. I guess when you have to deal with people every day you have to have a rough exterior? I don't know I am just giving them the benefit of the doubt. Well we finally figured everything out and found out the area we needed to go to get on the train. Here is a picture of the underground railroad..lol sorry I couldnt resist, but it really was underground. It was like a subway really.

PlanningSession075.jpg

Ok well we get on and I was somewhat disappointed with what I saw. When I looked up the seating on the website the seats looked like cozy puffy leather recliners. WELL...that is not what we sat in. Instead of the aforementioned seats we had hard, cloth, not at all puffy seats. We had a cabin assistant that was pretty cool. She seemed rough but she was actually great. She kept the car spotless and the bathrooms, much to my delight, very clean!

Here are some scenes in and out of the train.

After about 5 hours on this stupid train, rocking and rolling around I started getting stir crazy. I wanted off of this thing and I called up my DF crying and telling him how horrible the train was and that I want to get off at the next stop! He calmed me down but I was still hating this long 19 hour ride ahead of me!! Darn my mom for not wanting to fly!! :headache: Finally at around 11:30 I started getting sleepy. Sleeping on this thing was not the easiest of tasks. First of all I was rolled up in a fetal position trying to sleep on this chair. It was painful! My back and neck hurt so bad. I kept waking up from the pain but also from the wind shaking the train all over the place. I was scared to death that this stupid train was going to derail or something! All I wanted to do was go to sleep so that I could get to Orlando faster..lol.

Well after this horrible ordeal we finally got to Florida!!!

DAY 2

Ok so we finally made it into Orlando! I was surprised at how yucky the Orlando train station was! I was expecting this big station but instead it looked like a deserted building that trains rode by.

Anyway we were there and that was all I cared about!

PlanningSession076.jpg

My dad arranged for a van to pick us up to take us to POP Century. The driver was so sweet. He was very funny. I recommend Mears for all your travel needs!! :lmao: Request "JC" I believe his full name was Jesus Carabello. He was so awesome!

When we started getting closer to the resort I couldn't help but take pictures.

PlanningSession077.jpg

WE WERE HERE!!!

PlanningSession084.jpg

PlanningSession089.jpg

PlanningSession092.jpg

POP was so cute!!! I loved it! Out of all the value resorts this was by far the best! So we checked in and our room was in the 70's building. I was hoping for the 80's building since I LOVE the 80's but the 70's was equally as great!

PlanningSession005.jpg

Here are some pictures of all the cute things at the resort!

PlanningSession104.jpg

How cute is this place!! Oh and I saw this in the window of one of the rooms. Some of the rooms had little 70's themed toys in the windows.
Who remembers these!!! I had this one!
PlanningSession123.jpg

The room was really cute and I immediately turned on the tv to see Stacy!! You have to love her!

PlanningSession098.jpg

Well we were tired so we put on our bathing suits and went down to get some food in the food court. We planned on going swimming after we ate. I was looking at all the selections and saw the parmesan crusted chicken which was one of the entrees I would be tasting at my PS so I thought I would give it a try. My mom, aunt and cousin all got salads.

Ok....drumroll....drrrrrrrrrrr

MY VERY FIRST FOOD PORN PIC!!! My parm crusted chicken!

PlanningSession106.jpg

My mom's salad...
PlanningSession107.jpg

and what was left of my cousin and aunt's salad. My aunt made her picture artistic by placing the red tomatoe in a nice position from her half eaten bread stick...LOL.

PlanningSession108.jpg

PlanningSession109.jpg

The parm chicken was great and I couldnt wait to see what it would taste like at the PS.

So after that we headed down to the hippy dippy pool for a dippy.
PlanningSession113.jpg

PlanningSession111.jpg

I love palm trees!!!

PlanningSession115.jpg

The pool was really nice and very refreshing after the 19 hour train ride! So after the pool we bought our hoppers and went back to the room and played Scattergories.

PlanningSession002.jpg

Yay for Scattergories!

I won so that was fun!...lol.

After Scattergories I called Bobby (my DF) to say good night and he was being cranky because he was hot in Jersey. Here is my angry face after getting off the phone...I made a fist like I was going to punch him which I would have done if he were in front of me...lol. JK..or am I??? :rotfl:

PlanningSession001.jpg

Well that is the end of the first two days of my PS trip. I hope I did a good job but it will just get better!!

NEXT UP....DAY 3...EPCOT!!!!!!!!

Toni! I was waiting for you to post and get back!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you had a good time... my MOH is riding the Amtrak down from Richmond to the wedding... she is dreading the train ride, but her bf will be with her, so that's okay, but she is not going to like it! I'll send her a Yeti pillow to make it better! ;)

Can't wait to read the rest!

Toni, I hate traveling too, but I would really hate traveling if it took me nineteen hours to get somewhere! I don't know how you did it!

It looks like things got *much* better once you arrived! That parmesan crusted chicken alone must have made it worth it!

And I have to admit, I got a little teary-eyed when I saw the Disney exit signs (We're here! We're here!).

Wow! :worship: You are a better person than I am--lots of self control. I think I would have hurt someone if I had to ride coach on a train for that long!! I've traveled by train once from MN to D.C. We at least had a sleeper car, but even then I was on the brink of losing my mind!!! :rotfl:

Although...I think I would probably make that sacrifice for Disney, too.

Oh!! P.S. I am 99% sure I will be wearing the same dress you bought for your at home reception!!

Well one bright point is she wont have to go the entire way since she is starting off from Virginia but it will still be LONG!!!! I hope she makes it ok!

I don't know how I did it either but last night I had a train nightmare! :lmao: The Parm Chicken did help!! It was super good!!! The pool wasn't bad either. That kind of soothed my sore muscles! Those signs always make me happy!!

I thought I was going to lose my mind and start jumping off the train :rotfl: If it wasn't for my DF calming me down I don't know what might have happened! I think it would have been better in a sleeper car but I would have gone crazy still. That is great you will have the same dress!!! Its actually very light on and comfortable as opposed to my poofy Disney dress and a lot cheaper!!!!
