Your engagement photos turned out very well!

Thanks so much!!!!!! I was surprised because I got them done at Sears (I didn't feel like going through a professional). I didn't think Sears could take such nice pictures!!!

MAJOR FLORAL MELTDOWN!!!!
and some other miscellaneous things.

Ok so as some of you may know, I am having a planning session on June 9th.

I have been getting together lots of pictures of things that I want in order to give Celeste (my planner) and Rose (the florist) a good idea of what I am looking for. I am kind of going with a romantic, shabby chic look which, I feel, goes well with the Attic's current decor.

I am BIGGGGGGG on flowers and tiny details. I don't even care if anybody else notices, as long as I know they are there that is all that matters... :lmao: I cannot tell you how many pictures of flowers I have but I keep finding myself changing my mind about what I want to do. My colors are pink, silver and white. I am thinking of going with Roses, Sweet Peas and Hydrangeas. I don't want a big centerpiece because I don't want to take away too much from the Attic.

Ok well I guess my question is will the florist have a bunch of pictures and ideas for me to look at??? I have the pictures that I found but if she has better ideas I was just curious if she will have some pictures for me to look at. Anybody know?????? :confused3

Now the other things.......

I have decided that I am not 100% thrilled with the look of my glasses, knife and garter. I am really not digging the white ribbon on them. I would like to add my colors on them so I have decided to take them completely apart and fix them up myself. I will post pictures when I am done. I am going to the craft store today to see what I can find.

Sorry I had to vent!!! :worried:

Most of the pictures I remember Rose having were these boxes of cards with a picture of each flower on them, grouped by season (I think). There may have been pictures of centerpieces and other floral arrangements, but I wasn't very interested in them, so I don't remember.

I think you are doing a great job on your own if you've collected that many pictures! :thumbsup2 And Rose can sketch an idea that combines her suggestions and your suggestions to see if you're on the same page.

Yay! Carrie I was hoping you would respond!!

That sounds great. I hope we can put our heads together to come up with something. I don't want anything crazy and big just something small and simple just to add a little something so I am sure she will have some kind of idea. I just like to worry about things I guess! I can't wait until the session is over!

Hey Toni,

We are all here for you to vent away… Rose did have MANY pics for me, but since I knew what I wanted she didn’t bring them ALL out.. but she had a bag with many binders… Even if you dont see anything that fits you she can really help you come up with something TONIesque No need to feel down… Your wedding is going to be BEAUTIFUL

Hi Toni! I hope you're feeling a little less stressed now.

I'm not working with Rose, so I'm not sure how quick she is to get back to you or how receptive she will be to this idea. Have you told her what you want yet?

I've heard lots of mixed reviews about Disney floral via these boards, so I've been worrying a bit about it. I'm not getting a lot of flowers, but for what I am getting, I want something very specific. To help curb the flower-related stress, I have described exactly what I want to my disney florist. Then, she's been sending me pictures of what she thinks I'm looking for and what she has done in the past. That has really helped us get on the same page.

So, maybe if you do this, you can get the flower dialogue started with her, so it might be more stressful when you get down there. It's just my opinion, but I hope it helps :)

Thank you so much!!!!! That is great to know. I sort of know what I am after but I just want to see more pictures in case I am missing something. I am so glad you told me this!!!! I love that word....TONIesque!!!!

I sent over the form that she emailed to me so that she has an idea of what I am looking for at the planning session. I went with a romantic look with lush florals.

I think what my problem is, is that I used to be a florist so I have so many ideas and now I just want to get them all out there...lol. If I actually felt like making silks I would just do everything myself but I just don't want to be bothered making them and hauling them down from New Jersey.

YOU ALL MADE ME FEEL SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!

I love my fellow Disbrides!

Toni -

We're working with Celeste and Rose as well. Our planning session was a few weeks ago. Neither one of us care all that much about the centerpieces, so Rose came prepared with a huge binder with pictures in it. We selected a simple yet classic centerpiece.

So, yes, Rose will have tons of pictures and ideas if you want them.

Hope that helps!

Great!! How were they?? Celeste seems so nice over the phone!

Celeste is fantastic! She is very no-nonsense and organized. We hit a roadbump early on with the planning (long story but involves our Disney reservation info/wedding contact info being attached to an ex's mailing address), and she did a fantastic job handling the situation. I'm not a frilly, flowery kind of bride, and Celeste has done a great job with that (I was kind of worried that a wedding planner would try to force all sorts of frilly, flowy stuff us). I really, really like Celeste.

Rose is great: she is very organized and prepared. I must admit, though, I was exhausted by the latter half of the planning session when Rose came in (maybe it was all the park hopping, the heat, and drinking wine late into the night but the planning session just wore me out), so my recollection of our time with Rose is not entirely clear. My dress is primary black and ivory with some purple accents, so Rose suggested purple hydrangeas for my bouquet and purple hydrangea with votive centerpieces. We really had no idea what we wanted (and neither of us care all that much about what the centerpieces look like), which means that Rose did most of the work. :)

They are both fantastic!

Wedding Items....A CRAFT STORE TR!! :rotfl:

Today I felt like being crafty so I had the brilliant idea to fix up my toasting glasses, cake knife and garter. So after work I headed over to Michaels (in case you don't have a Michaels around that would be a craft store) and I went shopping. I love Michaels. So much fun being crafty!!!

So off I headed to the the ribbon section to find some pretty pink ribbons. I found a light pink and a dark pink. Those are my shades. I will post my wedding colors a little later. So I got my ribbon and now I wanted to find some white ribbon, lace or tulle or something like that for my garter to make it a bit fancier. So I finally found some really pretty white ribbon.

In the aisle where I found the ribbon was wedding invitations (it was the wedding section) One whole side was wedding invitations. Let me tell you I spent an HOUR looking at all the invitations to find something that fit my theme (shabby chic). I found some plain white ones, white ones with hearts, white with silver edging. I was not feeling these things AT ALL! I didn't plan on getting invitations anytime soon but I figured I might as well look while I was there. I found nothing!!! Blah...ok now off to find sparkles and glitter!!

So I went to the scrapbooking aisle to find some diamonds to put on my ribbons that will go on my wedding stuff and I found pretty clear and pink diamonds. Well while I was in the scrapbooking aisle I found a TON of Martha Stewart wedding stuff. She has paper centerpieces, invitations, favor boxes, everything for weddings and it is all so cute! Well I found fabulous invitations that I had to have!! So I bought them. I knew I wanted to have a little mickey on them too so I got some diamonds to do that also.

Another thing I was looking for was favor packaging. My favors are a little complicated. I will discuss them later but I did buy packaging for them.

This shopping trip cost me $161.00 which I didn't think was TOO bad especially since I bought invitations.

NOW THE FUN PART!!!!! PICTURES!

Ok if you have read my PJ in the early stages you have seen pictures of my wedding items when I bought them from Ebay. Well now we are going to do a fun BEFORE AND AFTER.

Invitations!

So here are my invitations. They are by Martha Stewart. JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW THE NAMES ON THE INVITATIONS ARE NOT MINE. I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE BUT THEY CAME WITH THE BOX.

Favor Box

Ok now a little story about the favors. I didn't know what to get for favors. I was lost. I looked at everything and I just didn't like anything. I didn't want to get something someone would throw out after I spent all that time thinking of something to give them. So one day as I was lying in bed I had a great idea! Wait let me get the bright idea guy... There we go. Ok so I was lying in bed and then it hit me! I can make something up myself!

My DF is a very talented cartoonist (at least I think so..lol) he does comic strips and he is a character in the comic strip. He was toying around with adding me into the strip so he did a cartoon of me. So I said to him why don't you draw me and you in wedding gear with the mickey ears on too look like our cake topper. (there is a pic of that early on in my PJ). So, obviously, he loved the idea because then he could show off but I couldnt think of what to put it on. Then I had another idea... LOL sorry, a coffee mug. Who doesnt love a coffee mug?! So that was our idea and that is what we are doing. I am going to find coffee and tea bags to put in them also. I was going to look in DTD to see if they have anything. For the kids we are making T-Shirts and then I am going to get them all autograph books and some other activities to play with for there favors.

Unfortunately I do not have a sample of my favor because my DF is being lazy but I do have the packaging it will be in. I always loved the idea of a gift box sitting on the tables as a favor so that is what I did. Here is what my crafty self came up with...

I think it came out pretty good. I like the little metal thank you tags.

So in closing, here is a picture of my entire ensamble minus the gift box.

I guess you can tell my colors are pink...lol. I will lay out the entire color scheme after my planning session.

I hope you enjoyed this installment of DisneyBrideToni's PJ. Sorry for my poor spelling but its midnight so I should be excused. Stay tuned for more updates AFTER my Planning Session Trip June 6-June 15. :goodvibes

THANK YOU!! I am glad it looks shabby chic. I am just trying to work with the Attic decor and that is what I think it looks like...LOL. I love the invites. Martha Stewart Rocks!! LOL.
