Tonga Toast @ Kona Cafe. Hidden jewel?

After hearing so much about this we have booked a breakfast at Kona for our last morning. Although, we are keeping in mind that it is probably far too sweet for us. So my husdand and I will share it.

I pretty much live on candy and didn't see that happening. Then we had Boma that night and I couldn't even look at the desserts without feeling sick.
It's good for sure, but never again
I wish they served it at night so I could eat it, run through MK a couple dozen times and crash in Cindy's room

Cannot wait to try it! I've heard so much about it that I made reservations on our next trip just for the TT and pancakes!

We have it planned for a OOP breakfast in June. Can't wait to give it a try!

i made it at home and nobody liked it.

i made the puffed french toast (Crystal Palace) and everyone loved it.

Wife loves it, it is a must do breakfast of every trip.

We made something close to it at home this weekend

artisan bread sliced about 1 1/2 inches.
cut slit to crust
mix mashed bananas and mascarpone cheese
stuff in slits
dip in egg mixture
place on hot griddle
dip in brown sugar
enjoy

The Allens5....great point by you.....nothing accompanies Tonga Toast better than some Kona Coffee. We're staying at the AKL and they have Kona beans you can buy. SO GOOD...

We are staying at the Poly for the 1st time this year. I am so excited about trying the Tonga Toast. We were going to make Kona ADRs but soon found out about getting @ Capt. Cook's thought I 'd get one and sit by the pool! That really sounds great when it's barely 30 degrees here this am. Can't wait for spring!!!!

Tonga Toast is too sweet and too greasy. Will gladly leave it for everyone else to order.
