Tomorrowland Terrace vs. Plaza Garden? - HEA Dessert Party

Hey Everyone - Planning to take our parents next Summer and want to do the dessert party so that they can fully enjoy HEA without the craziness of waiting for a spot.

We have done Plaza Garden before and loved the view... I'm skeptical about the Tomorrowland Terrace view and whether it is worth it. Which view is your favorite?

I think it depends on the night and how crowded it is. I would go in expecting to stand, but you might get lucky and be able to stay seated.

Have done the plaza viewing dessert party twice. Once for Wishes and the other for HEA. What we did was arrived early and had our desserts then were escorted down to the plaza viewing area where we brought along a blanket and sat on the synthetic grass until the show was about to begin then everyone stood up for the fireworks. Overall the vantage point is better at the plaza viewing area and there was a lot of room so everyone wasn't squished together.

We’ve done both and liked the plaza garden view better. Enjoyed sitting on the terrace while we ate desserts, waited until 15-20 minutes before show time to be escorted to the garden, then found a nice spot leaning up against the fence in the back. I think some people did sit on the grass while waiting but I don’t remember whether they sat or stood for HEA - I was enjoying the show!

I would not call the viewing bad from the terrace - it's just not "as good" as the view from the plaza. For our family, we prefer the plaza.

Our terrace viewing was for Wishes, before the garden option was available, so it was difficult to get a position near the edge of the terrace where the roof didn’t get in the way. I believe that seating and viewing arrangements for guests who choose terrace viewing have been established to give them a good view.

Now, yes. It used to be just fine, just that the fireworks weren't centered over and around the castle. But they've added quite a few trees, and with the projections for HEA, it's really not good.

I definitely recommend the Plaza Garden. We've done it multiple times and always had a very pleasant experience. You can sit up in the terrace for as long as you want. We always head to the back of the viewing area so we can lean against the fence. Every time I've gone, I've seen multiple people sitting during the entire show. The best part - there is enough room that you don't have to be on top of each other! We usually have a couple of feet around us in every direction. It's lovely!

The DW and I have done both, personally, we would prefer the garden view one. A lot better view than the terrace. We sat until the fireworks started, actually had room to lay down if we wanted, then people stood so we had to stand too, still not bad. We actually did all three dessert parties in July, we would rank them, 1, Star wars party, 2. HEA for illuminations and frozen ride, and 3. Plaza garden view. Thought the food offerings at Star wars and HEA were just a little bit better.
