Does anyone have any experience taking a two year old on the Tomorrowland Speedway? My son who is two loves cars and meets the height requirement but I'm worried he may not like the loud noise of the cars. In addition, do you have to wear a seat belt and if so is it over your shoulders? Is the sterling wheel close enough for him to reach it with a belt on? Thanks everyone!

He will have to ride on the passenger side, he's not enough to drive the car, as you do actually need to steer the cars. They aren't the ones that just automatically go on their track. They are about as loud as a lawn mower.

We took our one year old on in Jan. He wasn't bothered by the noise but isn't usually bothered by loud noises. The three of us squeezed into one car, the belt is a lap belt, not over the shoulder. DH drove and LO just sat back enjoying the view. He's obviously a tall one year old but he wouldn't have been able to manage steering - those cars are hard to control.

He can sit on the driver side....I've done it with my son for more than a few years now. He can steer the car (it's on a track so it will go where it needs to you will just get bounced around ALOT). You will have to control the gas pedal from the passenger side...you just push it with your right foot and ease up to slow down. And of course you can easily reach over and help with the steering.

DS (now 7) has always and still loves the speedway. It is nosiest as you get closer to the loading area - there is also gasoline smell from engines. It's really not bad. There is a seat belt - it's one long belt that straps over both passengers laps.

Make sure you get a Speedway driver's license from one of the CMs when you get off the ride.

It is a bit loud, but most kids are fine. You can buy some earmuffs if you are concerned. He can definitely sit behind the wheel, but you will need to provide a lot of steering assistance to avoid whiplash.

my 2 year old daughter sits in the drivers seat, granted i still have to do most of the steering, but she thinks she drove the whole way. She has never complained about the noise and she complains about nearly everything.

~OMG, kids *love* this ride! Tomorrowland Speedway has one of the worst queues in WDW. For me, that line is always long and hot in the summer -- and those awful fumes. But, I still find it to be fun & it's worth the wait because just kids love it so much. :goodvibes

~There cars are loud and the popping noise can be jarring or just unnerving for some children. If this is of concern to you -- I have seen a lot of positive feedback from parents who have tried the Peltor muffs or Baby Banz pictured below. There are a few other popular brands, too. :goodvibes

Have fun! :cool1:

We did it last year with two adults and DS and we fit, but it was super tight. From now on it will be one adult and one kid I that ride for us! The adult does the pedal. The kid steers!

He can pretend to steer and you press the gas. The ride is more fun if you don't steer IMO. He might be a bit young to even want to try and steer. My son always enjoyed it so the noise must not have bothered him. He usually covers his ears on BTMR.
