Tomorrow is the Big Day...Three Young Teens Learn They're Going to US!!!

Just had to share this: tomorrow (Saturday) our daughter is telling her son and two step children, all young teens, that we are all going to Universal next October, and will attend HHN. Her step kids have never been there (or anywhere in Florida), my grandson once, but none have been to HHN. I can imagine how excited they will be -

Nine of us will make the trip, the largest party we've ever taken to US. I hate to say we can't wait for the trip to get here (one doesn't have any choice but to wait) - but we can't wait!!

We have our trip booked for May/June 2012 and already have my ticker going - 7 months today Yay

Our's is a party of 11 and we are all so excited. We are going with my sister and her husband who are celebrating their 25th wedding aniversary. The last time they visited US was 25 years ago on the Honeymoon. They are bringing their two sons with their girlfriends, my neice, and then its me, DH, DS(12) and DD (9).

The interesting thing about kids this age is that they are beginning to become more reserved and don't show much emotion, unlike kids 5 - 7 or so who explode like volcanoes when they are surprised. That's about what happened - they smiled, said "really?", then the inevitable "cool...".

That said, I know what will happen next: website visits, discussion among peers, especially those that have been there, then, about six months away, it will start: "when are we leaving?", "when are we leaving?" for those next six solid months.

I love the fact that I will be there to see their reaction to their very first visit to a Florida attraction. As a grandparent, that is what I look forward to - seeing the joy.
