Hello Disney Folks -

Will vist Tom Sawyer Isalnd for the first time - do you have any must see places on Tom's island...

Hi when we last went we spent some time just sitting on the verandah at Aunt Polly's people (and bird) watching. Also my DS had a great time in the mine jumping out on his younger sisters and making them jump - LOL.

The best part of Tom Sawyer Island is the cave. Besides being cool from the heat, it's decently long and just spooky enough for little ones to get a kick out of it.

The barrell bridge, exploring the caves, My brothers always loved the Fort.

Do you tag along with your kids exploring the island, or is it easy to keep an eye on them if you sit in a central location? If it's like the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playset, I would have to explore right behind them, that playground gives me anxiety attacks, we usually avoid it.

I always follow my kids around. It's really too big to let your kids go on their own if they are little.

Here are some pictures I took of Tom Sawyer Island last year in Sept.

Way too big to let little ones run....If you are trailing them at Honey I Shrunk the Kids, you will definitely need to trail them at Tom Sawyer Island. It's much bigger! It would be a great place for older kids (10 - 13? with siblings?) to run by themselves while the parents enjoy lemonade on the dock, but mine are 2, 3, and 5....I'm still following them every step of the way.

I love TS Island...loved it as kid, too! I just enjoyed exploring and getting scared in the caves. To me this island is the epitomy of good old-fashioned wholesome American fun.

Enjoy!

Just how tight are these caves? Any problems for Adults to fit? Even larger Adults?

Id hate to follow the kids only to get stuck:earseek:

Thanks for sharing,I'm a big fellow myself and had to duck a little in caves but came no where near getting stuck.::yes:: :wave2:

An island that disney can get rid of people for an hour or so, been there , done that , will pass next time........ too long of a wait for the boat both ways..
