I cannot imagine that if I had a movie coming out and wanted it to do well that I would display such behavior as TC did on national television.

I believe everything Tom Cruise has been up to recently is just one big stunt. Katie is his accomplice because she, too, has a movie coming out this year.

Remember, Tom and Katie make their livings (millions and millions of dollars) as ACTORS. They're in the business of pretending. The whole thing reeks of the Jennifer Lopez/Ben Affleck fake engagement. I have a $1 bet with DH that the movies will come and go this summer and the wedding will never happen.

But who can blame the studios for doing this? Americans were riveted by Bennifer. So, if it worked before, Hollywood will try it again.

For a second, I almost pitied Tom and Katie for being pawns in a studio campaign. But then I came to my senses.

Yesterday at City Walk in West Palm Beach, there was a lady with a story board sign attached to her asking people to boycott Tom Cruises movie. The sign asked who TC thought he was giving out medical advice.
It was working for her though, as several people left without seeing the movie One guy came up to her and already had bought a ticket. She gave him money and took the ticket from him.
Eventually the sheriff asked her to stop and she left quietly....along with several others that got out of line because the cops were telling her to go.

maybe that is just a small impact, but it is an impact just the same

I think TC is an arrogant a**h***. I am so tired of celebrities trying to force their views and beliefs on a public who basically made them what they are. I do understand he is trying to do good for children who need help, but saying PPD doesn't really exist and the like is too much for me.

I have also heard reports that he basically held "auditions" for his next girlfriend and Katie Holmes was the "winner". From what was reported, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johannson, and Jennifer Garner (must have been pre-Ben Affleck) were also in the running for this position. WTH?

I dont have cable and i barely ever watch any TV. If it wasnt for my DIS board obbssestion I wouldnt even know whats happening with Tom Cruise. If Tom Cruise comes to your house, and tells you what to do, then thats different. People going door to door force their beleifs. People on TV are telling their opinion. If you dont like it... turn the channel.

That's just stupid. What about the hundreds of other people who worked on the movie? You're going to hurt all those people just to make a statement about one person?

Also, I went to see War of the Worlds today and it was packed for an early afternoon showing, so I doubt this is going to be a "flop" as some people have been predicting on here.

We should stop worrying about what Tom Cruise THINKS or the fact that he THINKS at all. After all, he's a boy toy, right? He's lost his marbles for sure. It's disturbing to see a movie star implode before our very eyes.

You know, I don't think he has "lost" anything! He may very well have been like this his entire career. I find it quite interesting, that he is out on the circuit like this, saying all these crazy things, after his sister started becoming his PR person.

I don't think his sister has enough control of him! A great PR person will make a person as smug as Tom SHUT THE HELL UP in certain situations. The PR guy he fired, probably had him quiet for too many years!

I just think that it is beyond a coincindence that Tommy started "losing his mind" after dear old Sis took over. He has been like this all along, he had just been under strict restrictions during interviews on what to say.
