Has anyone compared the toll fees for the exiting south of the airport (Hwy 417 to 535/536) versus exiting north (Beeline to I-4)? I know there is less traffic on the south exit and that is the way that WDW suggests you go. Also, are all the toll fees at each booth $1? Seems like the ones are on the south route. I will be making several trips from MCO to WDW and want to make sure I have enough $1 bills or quarters or whatever I need to get through quickly. Thanks.

Using the south route from the airport, there are two $1 tolls between the airport and exit 6 which will take you to WDW.

Also with gas at $3 a gallon, the traffic you sit in on the north exit will use up most of the cost of the southern route's $2.00 tolls.

I seem to recall two $1 tolls and perhaps a 50 or 75 cent toll... (south of the airport, which is a VERY quick route)

There is not much of a toll difference between the two routes:

Taking the Beachline Expressway (TOLL 528) via the North Exit of the Airport to I-4 there are 2 toll plazas. Assuming you don't have a SUNPASS/E-PASS transponder, each toll is $0.75 for a total of $1.50.

Taking the Central Florida Greeneway (TOLL 417) via the South Exit of the Airport to the SR536/International Drive exit or Osceola Parkway exit, there are also 2 toll plazas for $1.00 each for a total of $2.00.

The south exit is quicker but don't miss the SR 536 or Osceola Parkway exits otherwise there is a third toll plaza plus you'll find yourself on westbound I-4 past WDW.

Thanks, everyone. I guess the south exit is the winner! I appreciate your help.

There's one *possible* advantage to the north exit - ignoring the tiny difference in tolls. If you're traveling at a low traffic time of day, and if you're traveling with kids or first-timers, the Beeline is packed with billboards advertising the parks - both Disney and Universal. Lots of pictures of different attractions. I found this really can bump up the excitement level as you arrive.

As I said, this only works if you're arriving early in the morning, or later in the evening when traffic is light. Otherwise, you're pretty likely to get packed in traffic somewhere along the way.

Leaving the airport north exit go left at the first light instead of getting on 528 Beach line (Bee line). Curve to left and just over a mile later make two quick lefts to get on the Beach Line. Total toll is 75 cents.

Been OK for me (over ten trips) except between 4 and 7 weekdays.

Returning via I-4 east to 528 Beach Line east get off at exit 9 Tradeport, left and cross under, then (cheap gas station right there then) get into middle lane and take required right. Your'e just over a mile from the airport entrance.

We just came back. We took the 417 from the airport and to the Gaylord Palms exit (we stayed at the Nick Hotel). In total we went through 3 toll booths the first 2 were $1 each and the last was $.50. There is gas available in that area for as low as $2.81 near the Walmart on the 535 and inside Disney at one of the Hess stations (the AAA Car Care Center was closed for repairs) for $2.86. The most expensive one was $3.29. Remember that gas prices down there vary from county to county so sometimes just going across the street is a huge difference. I prepaid my gas with the rental car company at $2.94. I should have remembered that I could get it cheaper on my own, but it was a convenience not to have to stop for gas on the way back to the airport. Hope that helps!
