If anyone is going to be in the Toledo, Ohio area this summer (riddlecon'ers), you should make a stop at the Toledo Zoo.
They have a baby elephant, born April 30. He's all of 300+ lbs now and looks very tiny compared to his 8000 lb momma. We were told that he is one of only a handfull of babies born in captivity and he only has a 50/50 chance of surviving the first year.
The zoo is doing a great job of keeping him secluded. They allow only small groups of people, for a short time, to view him and his momma. They also gave a little talk before you got to see him.
Anyway, we were there this past week and it was so awesome. I just wanted to share with my DIS friends. I'll post a picture as I soon as I get the film developed.
