Hello! I'm looking for some recent dinner reviews from Tokyo Dining. Especially if you went and were able to watch illuminations from the restaurant. Be it from your seat or the balcony. A few specific questions would be..... When the fireworks start, do most people go out to the balcony to watch? How is the viewing? Is the music piped into the restaurant? Otherwise, how was the food, service, etc...... Any tips or things you noticed. The more information the better! Thanks!

In our experience, Tokyo Dining is NOT a restaurant that people leave their tables for Illuminations viewing and then come back to that table. Folks who left had their tables cleared. The music is not piped in - that would be a distraction in this environment, I think.
We enjoyed it very much. Food was good, service was great.
We had a window table and the view was just ok. It was partially obstructed and we couldn't see the globe at all. I prefer to watch Illuminations from outside.

I would time dinner so that I could be outside on the balcony about 20 minutes before Illuminations starts. You will not see everything at the water level, but we enjoyed watching from the balcony.

We ate at Tokyo Dining in January...had an ADR for 8:30 I think...and happened to still be there during Illuminations. The music was not piped in, and as far as I could tell, no one got up from their tables to go out to the balcony (the restaurant definitely still looked full). We were seated back by the sushi bar and couldn't see Illuminations at all, and the seating along the windows is limited. From what I remember, there may be some trees that would partially block the view even from the balcony.

HOWEVER, the food was great and the service was fantastic, despite the restaurant being full. We never felt rushed, even though we left at around 9:30, so half an hour after park closing. Our only issue was that it was loud in there so we felt a bit like we were yelling across the table to each other. The first time I ate there was for lunch several years ago and it was definitely quieter for lunch, but the food and service were still great.
