My DH is actually a big sweetie, but who knew I'd end up marrying a man who, when traveling, is a lot like my dad. They both remind me of Chevy Chase in the movie "Vacation," especially that scene at the edge of the Grand Canyon, where they take 30 seconds to enjoy the view and then, oops, time to go! :rotfl: Thanks for reading and thanks for the praise. Glad you had fun! EPCOT!!
:rotfl2:

Still reading, but I wanted to say that I am loving how you put it together -- the direct links are so very helpful! Sounds like a great trip. Definitely a great read for a rainy Sunday afternoon!

Hey cynderella!

Sitting here reading your TR. I am up to #15- and just had to comment on the pic of your duaghter fed up w/ the picture taking!

This reminds me of my niece- I am constantly snapping away at her and she does the same thing witht he hand up. I have taught her to say "no paparazzi please!" or "not now! I am not wearing any make up!" :rotfl2:

Also the "drama pic" of your daughter before the ride starts is priceless! :lmao:

OK! All done! Great report!

Bit-o-advice--

Sounds like next time, you need to:
~stay a little bit longer just to see everything.
~Give DH a chill pill :rotfl2: Just reading how fast you all went through everything (and missed some things :scared: ) was giving ME anxiety! :rotfl:
~get the DP and plan all your meals, where and when
~add the PLUS to your hoppers next time so the kiddies can do DQ (thats if it is still there) AND the water parks.
~maybe stay on-site so that you can use Disney transportation- DH will be much happier
~DH and I never set our alarm while in Disney. If you sleep a bit later- you won't be wiped out so early. Follow TGMs least crowded park days and you wont have to worry about beating the crowds! :yay:
~the parks are THE BEST at night! especially your FAVE (and ours!) the World Showcase. Be sure to get some champagne in France next time, and by the time you hit Germany- you are ready for a good beer!

I AM SURE you were aware of everything beforehand that I noted above, and it does take a few times to get used to The World so of course,
START PLANNING YOUR NEXT TRIP NOW! party:

Heyyy, Ms. Depp! Thanks for reading my TR! I totally agree that we needed longer to see WDW, but this year between the four of us, we could only swing 7 days. We're definitely trying to plan for 10 days next time (and that probably still won't be enough!) I think DH, who definitely could have used the
chillpill.gif
won't be as frantic next time. He was trying to see as much as possible, but it's in his nature to zoooom through vacation. I'm gonna liquor him up a little more next time. LOL I also plan to spend more than one day in WS next time, too...we're thinking we'll stay at BWV or BCV for the first part of the trip so we'll have easier access to that part of the world.

Well, the thing with that is that DH is a CM, so we don't pay for park admission - but his blue pass doesn't include admission to the water parks or DQ, so we have to pay if we wanna do those. Same goes for the dining plan. Since we don't have to buy tickets, we can't get DP, but I tell you what...I had about 10 ADRs over that week and we called and cancelled half of them because they were totally cramping our style. I think even if we could get the DP, I'd skip it. We had much more leisurely, enjoyable meals in our OKW kitchen/dining room. I think we pretty much reinforced that we're not a big dining out kind of family.

Uh, we DID!! We stayed at OKW! We thought renting the car would be useful, but it mostly sat in the parking space. The busses were much more convenient and relaxing (didn't you see my picture of the inside of the bus?) Next time, we'll probably skip the car and do DME, though (if I have anything to say about it!)

We did follow the TGM advice, but gads, it's sooo hot in August that we really preferred getting up early and getting back to the cool villa by early afternoon. I'll say this for mornings and TGM least crowded park advice. We didn't wait more 20 minutes for any ride at any time the whole trip. In the mornings we didn't wait more than 10 minutes. It was awesome!

Sorry cynderella!

I read your whole trip report and KNEW you stayed on-site and I still suggested you stay on-site! :lmao:

ADRs do stink! DH and I are not really planners, but now with the DP you kind of have no choice to be "spontaneous" when it comes to dining. We used to be able to walk right up and get a seat- now forget it! If you don't have an ADR- you are pretty much "! out of luck!" Unless you want to wait 45 minutes for a seat- and that is if you are lucky! And we are going during free dining so for about it!

DH and I love to eat out, but it's just the 2 of us. I guess when you have 4 people that might not agree on everything, making dining plans would be kind of difficult.

When I was planning for Sept- the FIRST thing I did was check out TGM least crowded park days- then went and chose my restaurants- we will work our days around our ADRs- I have read it will be HOT in Sept also!- We will probably stay at the pool until early afternoon- take a shower and then start the parks around 2pm- do a lot of the indoor stuff and then hopefully it may cool down a bit later in the afternoon to start the outdoor walking for the rides. We do have one morning that I want to open MK- just to see what its like- not to be one of the crazy people running for anything! :rotfl: and another early morning will be for the Segway tour. But other than that- we dont have plans to use our alarm-

:goodvibes

We didn't do a lot of ADRs either, but we did have good luck when we wanted to eat at Tony's at MK. I had my cell phone with me and remembered the 1-407-WDisney phone number, and I was able to pick up a ressie for one hour later from someone who cancelled (was it you, Cyn?) We couldn't plan ahead either. We like to keep it loosey-goosey! :hippie:

Great trip report. These great trip reports are like a domino effect. First I read Utahmama's TR that leads me to TwinkieMammas TR that leads me to Disuncs TR that led me to your trip report and now I just have to read Anc96's TR. So this lurker is just wants to say thanks to all the great diswriters.

I really enjoyed your report. We have premium APs, so we go to DL all the time, and it was really great to read the perspective of somebody with the same background, if you will. The fact that you are articulate is a welcome bonus.
