We are thinking of visiting Typhoon Lagoon on our May trip. Our little guy will be turning two years old while we are there. Has anybody done a water park with a young toddler? Is there any point? Paul really enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach while we were on our cruise last month, and he LOVES the water. (He's NUTS about those squirty play fountains all over Disney!) So, I thought maybe Paul and I could enjoy the sandy areas and the kid's play area while DH did some of the big slides. I think he'd also get a kick out of floating the river with me. What's the kid's area like? Is it mostly for older, bigger kids - or are there some things that he would enjoy? We've been to Typhoon Lagoon before, but never with a child, so we never paid attention to that area. We could just skip it til he's older, but DH and I both want to try the new slide they are building!

We took our 4yo and 14month old girls this past June. They both had such a great time. There is a little kids area of water that is only a few inches deep and water squirting hoses and out of the ground. We had a hard time getting our little one out of there to eat lunch.

We took out then 3 yr old with us when we were there year before last. She had a blast. She STILL talks about the water place. My DH and I took turns with her in the sand and at katch-a-kiddie creek. It was fun to watch her play and interact with other children at the park... AND it was fun to catch some bigger rides when it was my turn to take dd9 on the slides!

have a great time. Most kids will handle MOST places pretty well. But only if yuo train them to be adventurous!!

We loved Typhoon Lagoon for little ones. We were there in April 2001, and my ds (age 3) loved it. There was a little river/stream, with sand (really shallow, like a few inches), little slides and so on. We had planned on spending a few hours there and ended up spening the entire day!

Definitely bring your little one... we went to Blizzard Beach twice during our trip this past September and our son (1 year old) loved it. They have a toddler area and he also loved floating on the lazy river. We really enjoyed both days there.

BTW... make sure you pickup one of those water-proof disposable cameras for taking photos of your son having a blast!

Our son was 28 mo. the first time he went...he loved it! Besides the kiddie area, there are 2 or 3 little tugboats (like the size of a small car) stuck in the very shallow water area of the wave pool and he had a ball playing in the boat. Just give him some plastic cups or beach toys to play with. But watch out if you take him to the part where the waves hit up on the shore - even though it looks tame, I've read that kids can get knocked over and I think the bottom is rough there. I never mastered taking him on the lazy river - couldn't find a tube that fit both of us and there was no relaxing way to do it...

Have fun!!!
