"Toddler and Tiara" My Princesses First Disney Trip!! January 2012

Subbing! :goodvibes That Mickey bag you made for your daughter is so cute! Also love your meal choices...I adore Boma for dinner -- they have the best desserts!

Welcome!! I am really looking forward to eating at Boma!! I've heard such wonderful things about it, and I NEVER pass up a dessert :) ADR's open up for me in 8 days!! EEEEKK, I am so excited!!

Every summer my sister (DisneysBellman) comes to visit. I bring her back to school clothes shopping, we hang out, we bond. This year we started a new tradition... cooking a grande finale Disney recipe meal!! It was a ton of fun and I'm looking forward to next summer to do it again :) Here's what was on the 2011 menu:

Queso Fundido , San Angel Inn

Spicy Beef Empanada Argentina, Food & Wine Festival

This one confuses me a little bit... it's not an empanada and it wasn't spicy. But was it yummy? YES!

Bread Pudding with Bananas Foster Sauce , 'Ohana

This was a terrific recommendation from ZFamily5 and it did not disappoint!! The entire meal was over the top yummy and a great way to pretend like you're at the happiest place on earth

Look, my sister liked the Bread Pudding so much she ate two plates!!

While DisneysBellman was visiting we also went to Sea World San Antonio, I call it "practice" for Disney World :lmao: Lo did great despite the 100+ weather. Here are a couple photos from our trip. Notice, I got to test out my new stroller bag!!

BAD NEWS: We have run into a problem recently. Lo LOVES Elmo!! I am telling you this kid can spot him from a mile away and she calls out "MELMO!!!" So tonight at dinner we asked her to say "Mickey". What does she say... "Melmo". NOOOOOOOOO! Melmo? Melmo? Mickey is a billion times cooler than Melmo!! We still have 6 months to fix this tiny problem!

I'm so glad you liked the bread pudding! Everything looks so yummy! I'm glad Lo had fun, but hopefully she'll learn to like Mickey!

You and I must be kindred spirits - I am on obsessive planner and researcher. You should see my trip binder for the Labor Day long weekend at Disney coming up!

*You asked for recommendations in Tallahassee - my son went to FSU the last two years and LOVES MoMo's pizza. (The slices are absolutely HUGE!) There are lots of other choices as well - just thought I would mention his favorite.

*You will adore Boma for dinner...... amazing! Our extended family group of 17 had Christmas dinner there last year and everyone from the youngest at 2 years old to our (mine and sis's) parents LOVED it. Make sure you try the zebra domes - they rock!

*Having just been there are Christmas time with a 2 and 3 year old - leave lots of flexibility in your plans (ie. "best laid plans..." - make them - but expect them to change a lot along the way)

***Consider some "down time" looking into/touring Disney vacation club. We bought in back in 2006 and have never regretted it for a single second. I am a true lover of all things Disney, as you are - and knew I would be going many times. We stayed in an All Star one time and I knew I would never stay value again - so it made complete sense for us and we have already enjoyed several wonderful family vacations. (You might wait until you have converted the hubby to a mouse lover for this activity!) If you decide to do this let me know and I will PM you. (referal rewards :-) and my "guide" is AMAZING)

Looking forward to watching your trip develop..... and Lo is sooooooo adorable.

Wow, that was a feast! It all looks yummy!

Everything really was delicious!! And yes, we were all stuffed after we were through :)

Thank you so so much for the restaurant recommendation!! Pizza sounds wonderful and we don't have any pizza places planned for the trip so that will work out perfectly!!

Yes, keeping the schedule open and flexible will be my biggest challenge. It's just not my personality to let things go totally unplanned, but I realize that Lo will really dictate what we are and are not able to do. My goal is to leave a ton of time to get things done and not rush around... V is going to come up with a "safe word" for when I start to try to control too much :lmao:

Free Dining was announced today.

I'm also a member of a WONDERFUL group of mom's on a different site that are currently planning Disney vacations, and let me tell you these ladies know their stuff!! So when rumors started about a week ago that Disney would be offering free dining I started to get excited. Well it was confirmed early this morning by a terrific mom that is ALWAYS on top of her game (DisneyGuess on here) that it was in fact happening today and that my vacation would benefit from it!!! :rotfl: YAY!! :rotfl:

So I called Disney even before it was officially announced and I waited and waited and waited. For an hour and a half. Not nearly as bad as the four hour rumor I have been hearing!! Any way, I got FREE DINING and switched up our package to a King Size Room at the Coronado Springs Resort and still saved $640... totally worth the wait!!

The thing I am really happy with is that I did not have to change my dates to take advantage of the promotion, so I have all of my ADR's already made and ready to go!! I haven't updated you guys on what I ended up with, but I will soon!!

I'm going to go for now and celebrate, but I'll be back real soon to let you know how my ADR's turned out :)

You made me blush! :hug::flower3:
I'm glad I could help!! & I'm glad you were on hold less time than I was! :scared1: I had a hour on ya, lol! 2 & a half hours! But it was worth it!! :thumbsup2

I can not believe the way that worked out!! When I got to speak with the CM he said that the lady he was talking to before me was on hold for 3 hours... it didn't seem like there was any rhyme or reason to it. He did mention that all 4 Disney call centers were working over time on the free dining announcement so maybe it just depended on which call center you were transfered to on how long you waited. Weird!!

So excited still, I did feel bad over on BBC for the people that it didn't work out for...

Yay for free dining!! Can't wait to hear what ADRs you decided on! :cool1::banana::cool1:

I know I need to get on that update... I'm not as good as you about updating. You always do a great job!!

Yay for FREE DINING! :thumbsup2

Yes, I am a fan of it!! I kept trying to explain to my mom how it worked, she was stunned. It was so funny!! Usually we went durning the peak times of Spring Break and Thanksgiving so I don't think it was ever offered during those periods anyway. I had to reassure her that she didn't over look a deal that great :lmao:

 Let me start by apologizing... it has taken me way to long to update this pre trip report!!

July 28th was our 180 day mark. So you better believe I set my alarm for 5:55am central time to get on the computer as soon as I could to make our ADR's :goodvibes We ended up with everything we wanted and now, because of Disney's new promotion, we are dining for FREE!!

Wednesday January 25th
Resort/Mini Golf Day
6:30pm 'Ohana
I am so excited for this one!! I've been once and remember it being super yummy and I think V will LOVE it! We plan to watch Wishes from the Poly Beach after dinner

Thursday January 26th
Magic Kindom
10:10am The Crystal Palace
I booked this one for a late breakfast so that we can take advantage of the early EMH, we will have about two hours to explore Fantasyland before we meet Pooh and his friends!! This will be our first time trying this character meal.

Friday January 27th
Animal Kingdom
8am Tusker House
Also a first for us... AK is V's favorite park so this will be a great way to start the day!!

Saturday January 28th
Hollywood Studios
11:30am The Hollywood Brown Derby
OUR FAVORITE!! Hands down our favorite restaurant @ WDW so far. We are really looking forward to this one.

Sunday January 29th

Monday January 30th
Epcot World Showcase
8:15am Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
PRINCESSES!!

Tuesday January 31st

This is the only ADR I am on the fence about... Epcot is such a fantastic place to eat and to think that this one might let us down is nagging me so bad. BUT... Lo LOVE LOVE LOVES fish and so we are going to give it a real shot. I'll try to forget that Le Cellier, San Angle Inn, Les Chef de France, um pretty much every country pavillion restaurant are just around the corner.

Wednesday February 1st
Magic Kingdom
7:15pm Narcoossee's
The dream situation here is that we get to watch Wishes one last time while eating dessert, drinking champagne and hugging each other. At the very least our tummies will be filled with yummy food!!

So that's the ADR's for this trip. I also have our Quick Service restaurants and several snacks picked out... I love food :) If there is something you can think of that I HAVE to try please please let me know!!

Yay for getting all the ADRs you want!

My family loves loves loves Boma! And breakfast at CP... these are 2 places we'll go back to on any and all trips to WDW.

We've also been to Akershus, but for lunch. I wasn't a fan of the food (had I thought about it sooner, I would have changed our ADR to breakfast... but by the time I thought about it there wasn't any breakfast times available) Though seeing the Princesses and my DDs reactions was totally worth it!

We've never been to HBD, TH, Coral Reef, or Narcoossee's.

I'm trying 'Ohana for the first time on my trip next month, and I cannot wait! Dinner looks so yummy!

I'm in! Sounds like you're gonna have a blast! And I'm jealous of you getting a 6:40 ADR at Ohanas! Mine are all booked for my trip, but I keep checking!

I'm late to the party, but I'm in! Our trip dates overlap and it looks like we're even in Epcot on Monday the 30th together! Small world! Lo looks adorable, I'm looking forward to reading more of your plans!
