or will the sales get better? buy 2, get one Free equates to 33% off each item. That's a pretty good deal, especially for legos and Fisher Price stuff. I'm trying to remember if I saw better prices at any time past year. I have to buy gifts for 8 kids ages 12 and under, so this sale could work well for me. What do you think, budget Boarders? Jump on this sale and don't look back or wait for a better deal? I'll be going for lego sets for my son no matter what, but I need to decide if I should get other stuff, too. What do you think?

Here's a link to this week's ad:

yes, I would. I mean, yes I am!! LOL!! Just keep your receipts organized and return later if something better comes up. Which it won't on Legos!

Shop now, but keep everything in the bags and the receipts carefully stored with the gifts. IF lower prices come along, return your initial purchases and re-buy at the lower price.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to pick up some of the more popular items, Legos & FP toys go fast. I think TRU wi run this promo a couple more times before XMas.

I am going to be going there today. I bought 2 Fin Fins last week at Target....figured I might as well go back and get a free one and return the ones from Target!

:thumbsup2

OP, just think how good you will feel when all the other parents are scrambling at the last minute to find the toys their kids want at a good price, while yours are all sitting in the closet already ;)

If you are ordering Legos be careful. I have 3 lego items in my cart. One was showing up as free. I got all the way through checkout and my total was $50 more than before. There is some glitch that is adding the free set back into the total. Glad I didn't hit submit! Now when I go back to my cart, the 3rd set is showing full price, not 0.00 like it previously did. and all 3 sets have the "buy 2 get 1" logo on them

I would shop now but make sure it is what you/they want....I think tru has a 90 return policy..

Be careful with purchasing video games this far from Christmas. I think Toysrus's return policy on video games is 14 days.

I agree with PP that some deals may get better, but it's tough to beat the deal on legos. TRU is often a couple dollars high on lego sets, but if there are 3 sets you want that are close in price it works out to a good deal. I usually compare TRU lego prices with lego.com to make sure they're not way overpriced.

I was planning to go to the store at 10am this morning to buy Legoes and Mighty Beanz, but found everything I needed online with free shipping (if you spend $100), so I don't have to go to the store!

Good Luck shopping! Hope you get some great deals!

I am just back and my store was a bust. The legos they had were only $59.00 and up- so it was tough to find a decent mix to get the one free. Star Wars were not included- which turned into a bust for me. Also discovered what I feared is going to be the tough to find item on the season- The Trio Batcave. Sold out.

I bought 3 mighty beanz, 3 imaginext(that fisher price) toy story things(littlier ones) and 3 Trio sets that they had (in the $20 range) and ended up spending $111. Which didn't seem that cheap to me. So I wouldn't count on a jackpot. Good luck though maybe your store will be better than mine.

TRU should have a sale on SW Lego's before Christmas, if they follow the same pattern as last year. I know thats what I'm waiting for too.

YES, this happened with me as well, but with Hasbro games. I didn't catch it in time though and I had to call them. They fixed it right away, no questions. They said sometimes it kicks the promo out because it only is supposed to allow for one promo code at a time.

You are only allowed 1 free thing for the promo on the website. So if you have three lego sets and three barbie dolls (just an example), you will only get one barbie doll for free. Now if you did the same thing in the store, you would get one barbie doll and one lego set for free. Their site sucks for that.

Just be careful - their return is 90 days. I purchased a thomas train from them w/ the same type of sale. They wouldn't accept the return bc they changed the return policy.

I went and got 3 lego sets and 6 packs of Pokemon cards. Their prices on the Legos seemed the same as Lego.com and Target, but the Pokemon tins were a couple dollars more than at Target, but it was still a good deal with the free one. I also got the three Imaginext Toy Story figures and 3 Little People sets.

I always get confused by the return deal, because they actually ring one up as free, instead of taking a percentage off each item, adding up to the fre one (KWIM?). I guess if I was a dishonest character, I could technically take back one or two of the full price items and keep the free one. I know I have tried to return a free item before and they wouldn't give me anything for it. I find that totally bizarre.

Anyone tried any of the new lego games yet?

I bought the HP one. DS wanted it after seeing it in DTD. It did NOT come up as buy 2 get 1 free, even though it says it is online. I had to argue with them to get it free. It looks neat.

That makes sense...I had some play doh items in there as fillers to get free shipping.
