Today my daughter is 15 years and 9 months. She is now eligible to take her exam to get her driver's permit. So, after school I am taking her to the DMV. I am excited and nervous at the same time. My baby is growing up. :lovestruc

I know it's kind of scary isn't it. My DD turned 15 last Nov and within the month she had gotten her permit. She is doing really well, but it can still be nerve wracking. :)

15years 9months is a weird age to be able to get your permit. Here it is 16. Not a day before. Is there a reasoning for that age? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time before going on their driver's test?

I agree it is a weird age. She must have her permit and log 60 hours of drive time and go to driving school before obtaining her provisional license. Then after 6 months of having a provisional license she can then get her full license. It is a 3 step process here.

::yes:: I'm in MD, too! In addition to the 60 hours and driver's ed, you have to have your permit for 9 months before you can take the license test.

Hopefully she is not like my dd. Mine went up, never having read the book, and flunked her exam. :lmao:

Guess who studied the next time I took her up? :thumbsup2

Good luck to your daughter!:goodvibes

Do you have any Valium left from your dentist appt?;) I am not looking forward to that with my DD and it is coming soon!

did you notice any new gray hairs this morning?

In NC, you can get your learner's permit at 15.
