I know this may seem like a trip report, but there is some good info I thought you would like on the trip planning subject.

Kids (16yo dd, 17yo boyfriend and 12yo ds) rode Rockin' Space Mountain and loved it! We will ride later. :woohoo: They said it had Red Hot Chili Peppers playing and special lighting throughout the ride. Too Cool :cool1: !!

Disneyland Park was sold out when we left at 1pm. California Adventure was open.

Oh, the weather is beautiful!! Warm and sunny, but not too warm (70s), cool in morning and night (maybe 60's).

Our 6yo dd wore her Snow White costume and was all ready to meet the princesses. We took her to the Princess Fantasy Faire and her whole face lit up when she saw the REAL Snow White! We made sure to buy an autograph book with every other page having a plastic photo pocket next to the autograph page. :cloud9: And she was coronated a princess in a special ceremony for all the little princesses and knights.princess:

wow - it doesn't seem that busy. We're just taking a little break in our room and will head back over. They've extended the hours - staying open one more hour until midnight.

I wonder how tomorrow will be. I'm planning on going for a few hours, but if it's crazy i'll pass or maybe just head to CA adventure.

When we went back to DL at around 6pm, the sign didn't say DL was full anymore. But, it was still very busy and hard to get anywhere around the time people were starting to reserve seats for Fantasmic and the fireworks (8-9pm especially). Indiana Jones was back in service and the next fast pass we could get was 11:15! We will go on that tomorrow!

Splash Mtn was great and scary in the dark! :scared1:

My husband is feeling sick, not sure if allergies acting up because of the different climate or if he is getting a cold. The rest of us are really tired and my 16yo dd is moody.... :scared:

We had a hard time trying to find any food that we wanted to eat that was enough food for the cost. We can bring sandwiches, but what if we want hot food and don't want to pay and arm and a leg for 5 adult meals and one child meal? Any Ideas?? Also, we have AAA and I don't know which restaurants give discounts but I thought I saw that posted on here somewhere....

DCA was busy too... like Muholland Madness had a 50 min wait time...

Oh wow, I guess it will take some time before the crowds slow down a bit. Sounds just wonderful though! Considering how cold it is here! Boy do I wish I was there now!! Enjoy! :)

When was DL closed? We park hopped all day.. Wasn't that bad got on about 10 rides and saw 2 parades.. Also had 2 kids in tow.. Ate 2 mals with no lines.. Had 10 minute photo session with Mickey and Goofy..

Can't wait to go next week. Hopefully everyone will have gone home!

If you gone in once, you can go in as many times as you want i think...

We decided to do DL today instead of DCA because it might rain in the afternoon. :cutie: Me and DD decided to wear our hair up just so we could "not mess up our hairdo's" by the rain if we wore our hair down (we are so vain, I know, LOL). :p

We will try Indy first today! We slept in and are getting a later start so, with fingers crossed, we will get on all of our favorite rides today due to rain!! :dance3: Well, the inside rides!

Our favorite place to grab a warm meal at a semi-reasonable price is Whitewater snacks at the GCH. But I don't think they offer any AAA discounts.

Absolutely NO atmosphere whatsoever though. We've recommended it to friends before and they were disappointed, so don't go unless you're OK with what is basically a pool bar with a kitchen where they fix a few hot sandwiches/burgers/pizza.
I do think it's a pretty good value though - in the context of Disney parks. ;)

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that tickets were sold out. I thought that the parks wouldn't be THAT crowded. :confused3 I guess it's because some schools are still on vacation until the 8th. Hopefully the crowds won't be so bad by next week.

For food, we like the Pizza Port. We always split the Chicken Fusilli - too much for one person!

We did Early Entry, came back, took a short nap, showered and are heading back now. Grabbed fast passes, did the Fantasyland rides. It's good to go early!

We were there yesterday, too, and we were surprised when we drove up (at around 1:00) and saw that Disneyland was at capacity. We went over to CA for a little while and then went over to Disneyland and there was no problem getting in.

It was crowded, though, and since we usually go during the week, we were not used to that many people being there! :scared1:

I just got back from Disneyland, and was surprised at how crowded it was! I guess that's because the last time we were there (same time of year, right after Christmas) it was not crowded at all. We think it's because in '04 there was all that rain and might have kept people away, but who knows. On Friday (Dec. 29) we walked over to pick up our tickets, and it said DL was sold out, and it was sold out again on the 2nd.

Oh yeah, my dad and I got stuck on it's a small world for over an hour on the 2nd...:faint:  It was not fun at the time (especially since it was earlier in the morning, and we could have done a bunch of other things), but now that I think about it, it was kind of funny. LOL. Luckily they turned the music off, but you could still hear all the dolls clacking away.

we were there on wednesday as well. got really busy during the day. had to go back to the ticket booth to pick up a ticket for a friend that was going to show up, but they said that DL was closed, but we could get our friend a DCA pass and then get into DL around 6pm. (this was around 12:30pm), but (since we had already been in DL and gotten our hand stamped) if we bought a 2 day park hopper she could get in. (that itself made no sense) we got her the 2 day and she got in with us.

the show for the fireworks was really busy, and then once that was over everyone herded over to see fantasmic. it was really warm during the day, but then at night got too cold. didn't get on too many rides. first thing once we got in was headed over to haunted mansion holiday and then POTC. later that day the line for IASWH was really long, but the line moved fast. never even got a chance to sit down. every 15 minutes a light show showed up on the building.

(i'll do a trip report later)

it was fun though...

OMG, that would be my worst nightmare! I am not a fan of It's A Small World and have only been on it once in the last five years or so!!!

We lucked out yesterday when we went to get in line for Haunted Mansion. Someone had gotten some Fast Passes and evidently didn't want them so they laid them down on the brick wall next to the entrance. I saw them, picked them up and saw that they were valid in the next half-an-hour so we got a couple of churros and waited and then got right on the ride - it was great!

I think we'll wait until everyone is back in school before we go back, though.

We waited in line for on hour for Space Mountain. It was well worth it! :thumbsup2 We love rock music and "higher ground" is a great song from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

It was very busy and it did not rain until about 6pm. Oh, right before that, my 16yo dd and her 17yo boyfriend went to go ride the ferris wheel in DCA and we were going on Monsters with the littler kids and we would meet up right after and go eat at Whitewater Snacks. Well, while we were in line my DD calls me on the cell phone and says California Screamin' has stopped mid-ride at the top right before the drop and people were stuck. My daughter says that technical people had to go up and get people off the ride. That stinks....:sad2:

Ok, it rained and a lot of people went home. We decided to try Whitewater Snacks. I didn't like the chili dog and either did my 16yo dd but the rest was good (beef nachos, cheeseburger, kids chicken tenders and kids grilled cheese ) I have to say the Nachos were big, the Chicken tenders were really big and the grilled cheese was big enough for an adult.

After that we practically walked on to Soarin'. Then we tried TOT but it was closed. We jumped over to DL and thought Space Mtn would be a short line, but it was 70 minutes! We ended up going into "Honey I shrunk the audience" for the first time. It was cute and kind of hokey, like the movie.

I don't know how today will play out because it is 10am and we are still getting ready. :coffee: Our wakeup call was at 6am and we just answered it and went back to bed until 8:30!! My feet hurt!

We learned that today we need to bring a lot more drinks to avoid the $3. sodas and also get a stroller for our 6yo so we can walk faster and not carry the heavy igloo backpack (got it from Target across the street!). popcorn:: And DH is at Ralphs right now stocking up on lunchmeat, coke and water for today and tomorrow.

I really hope we can fastpass a bunch of rides today. The past few days we could not because we would get there and the first fastpass would be past 9pm. We'll see. We still need to ride Peter Pan and Pirates and I don't know how we will avoid an hour long wait.
