September 22nd 2007 (Day 10)
I'm ashamed to say we both had a lie in til 9am this morning, just soo tired from doing MK all day yesterday! Another CS breakfast (choc chip pancakes with bacon for me, cheese omelette for Steve) and we set of for Seaworld. We were running a bit late (supposed to check in for the dolphin tour at 11am and it was ten to when we left!) and the car park queue was a mile long but it turned out not to matter anyway, typical! The tour wasn't til 1:30pm so in the meantime we went on Kraken...
Looked at the cute penguins and not so cute sharks...
Fed the sea lions (I did anyway, Steve won't touch fish being veggie and all)
I love the sea lions, they're such posers!
Aww babies!
and went on Wild Arctic, no polar bears today but this guy popped out to say hello
By now it was time for the dolphin tour. First there was a half hour talk about dolphins which included info about their feeding habits, gestation (12 months!), family groups etc then we went to the dolphin pool where we were taught trick cues for the dolphins (with a fishy reward for them too of course!) The dolphins were called Ariel and Lily and both were pregnant but it didn't seem to hinder them, they're such agile and graceful creatures. Steve didn't want to touch the fish but he did get the chance to stroke Ariel with everyone else, and he was happy to be photographer:
The tour was really good fun and we were glad we did it, I think we'll try the penguin encounter next time! We'd pretty much done what we wanted to in Seaworld (not really into the shows..) so we just looked at the manatees and tropical fish on the way out.
Had to be done!
Looking awkward, maybe I was expecting the flamingos to turn vicious?
Fishies and rays
Next item on the agenda: Mall at Millenia! We went straight to the Cheesecake Factory when we arrived and were seated after about 20 minutes. I had the orange chicken in lunch size which I still couldn't finish and Steve had the aubergine sandwich. For dessert we both had cheesecake (naturally!) White chocolate peanut butter truffle for me and chocolate chip cookie dough for Steve, we ended up having the leftovers boxed as the portions are soo huge there and wasting cheesecake would be a crime..! After dinner we did some shopping in the Apple store (not another big purchase, just an iPod case and dock!) Sanrio store, Yankee again and Macys because I wanted some Benefit stuff (even though the snooty Bloomingdales staff had told us there was no counter in the entire mall, how cheeky! Glad I decided to check for myself!) Steve got his millionth pair of Vans. Next we decided to go to Target for a few bits (including the amazingness that is click top Sharpies.. Doesn't take much to please us i'm telling ya!) Still no Smores bars though, guess Steve will have to get his fix from eBay instead. He did get two Jansport bags for $14 total though so that made up for it somewhat. We had a Starbucks on the way out and headed back to POFQ.
