To Toll or not to Toll? That is the question.

According to my GPS it is only 402 miles from my house to Pop Century but that is if I take the Toll Road. If I don't use the Tolls then it is 498 miles away. My question is it worth taking a toll road for the shorter distance? If so how much do the tolls run now? pirate:

Take the toll road. It's about 3 bux total. Oh but carry loose change. It's in increments.

Tough question. I assume you are referring to the Florida turnpike as the toll road.
I only drove that way one time and honestly it was so long ago any info I had would be out dated. When I drive to Orlando I often take the exit for 417 in Sanford from I4. It is a toll road with pretty hefty tolls so not many people take it and I can often avoid the delays on I 4 from all of the traffic.

It depends on what toll road you are taking. FL TPK is money well spent IMHO. The Beeline... well...

What dirrection are you coming in from?

Think about how much extra $$ in gas you'd spend driving those extra miles. If it's more than what the tolls would cost, take the toll road. Personally, I'd take the toll road anyway, but if you want a logical way to figure it out, do the math.

The Beachline and 417 have tolls but are worth taking. Anything that keeps you off I-4 for as long as you can is worth the money.

I always take toll rodas to get there. Hardly any traffic to speak of so worth every penny. I have a Sunpass so I don't have to worry about having cash for the tolls.

I'm not sure what toll roads you're talking about. When I lived in Mobile,AL and drove to WDW the only toll road is the Florida Turnpike and we got off on it on 285 Leesburg (US 27) and went in the Clermont way...well we still do that because we have a friend that lives off of 27. The toll use to be $1 but it's up to $1.25 now!!! :teeth:

But now a new more direct way into Disney has opened since we were down there Toll 429 - Daniel Webster Western Beltway. The cost for it is $2.50 for a car. Here's the site where you can calculate the amount: http://www.floridasturnpike.com/TRI/index.htm

So my answer....$2.50 is a lot less than 96 miles!!!

Take the toll road! :moped:

As another poster said, you will spend more on gas than you will on the toll, plus you would be spending more than extra hour to get there. You'll be on your way to spending thousands of dollars. Don't let another $3 slow you down. ;)

I agree with this. Time is money too. Get there an hour earlier.
