To Timbuktu and Back...Updated...rest of IOA-DH and Kate going out the back gate.

We headed into the large Disney store and poked around in there. I got a couple of Mickey charms for my sister and my niece that they had asked for and Emily got herself some Mickey earrings.

Yippee, As you guessed I am her sister and I wish I could have been there but since I couldn't she is bringing me and my daughter a little reminder. We were there last November and can't wait to go again. Love ya Sis

And lets hear some more.

MotherfletcherI'm so happy your enjoying my report...there is so much more to come! I think my DD12...Emily...is the queen of potty breaks!!

while we were at BG, we didn't have to sprint to anything...the crowd was so light...it was wonderful!!

I hope you continue to read along as I post new installments!!

She's the princess! I'M THE QUEEN!!!!!
It's the rides. :)

When I was looking at your trippie and then the pix from my trip - does the back of this kiddo (in the coral stripes with the limeish backback) match your kiddo???!!!!

OH MY GOD!!!! That is TOO funny!!! That IS my daughter Emily!!!! How freaky is that????? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :scared1: :scared1:

To Dismom and tlinus,

Okay, so in Disney we sport our lime green mickey heads, etc., so what is the sign for dis board members in US. If there isn't one this is a perfect reason why we need one. Anyone?

I agree.....we need a symbol of the USO group - any creative takers out there??? That was too funny when I realized we had a brush with Dismom :cool1:

I thought I had read something about there being a Disboards "ID" for Universal but I don't remember what it was IF there was...but I remember reading something.

Another funny thing...at this point...I seriously don't remember if it was seeing it on your trippies pictures or if I remember seeing it in person..but your DH tshirt. All I remember is seeing and thinking....OH Emily has that same shirt!!! I just can't remember if it was on the boards pics or in the park!

We do need to research the "I'm a Dis member" ID!!

The flying monkeys one? Yeah - Kait got it for him because if anything there are 2 things that scare DH - clowns and the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Okay, I haven't read more than the first couple of posts and I can NOT stop laughing.

The confusion over FELICITY! Too funny. I am not sure how the confusion started. This line (from the first post) should have cleared up any confusion:
Felicity was told were we wanted to go and she was suction cupped to the windshield. She did a fine job getting us to our hotel. She didn’t always behave this week but we will get to that later!!

I don't know of any actual "ladies" that allow themselves to be "suction cupped to the windshield." God, I can't even type that w/out laughing to the point of tears.

So funny!! The images of this are hysterical.

Dismom+two, I want to vacation with you guys! Great trip report! Love the pictures. Makes me eager to get back there! Thanks for writing a TR out, I know they are hard work. :thumbsup2

I'm glad I'm able to make you laugh. We do have fun on our vacations. I am HOPING to get the next installment up tonight.
DD is having a friend sleeping over so I will be sent to my room, with my laptop, (they are sleeping in the livingroom) so I will have time to write...

Make sure you check back later this evening!!

As long as there's no suction cupping of DD's friend...

OHHH no..there will be no suction cupping going on tonight!!!

Before continuing on with my next installment, I have some distressing news. Dh was away on a trip last weekend, when he returned home, he realized that while turning in the rental car, he left Felicity on the seat of the car!!! :scared: All I can say is… I hope he never forgets ME in a rental car someday!!:rotfl2:

Fear not however, he has already replaced her! He went and got a TomTom named Lori…well, that’s the name the particular voice came with but I think we may change it.

NOW, on with the show….:surfweb:

If you remember, I stopped taking notes on my first day. The following may or may not be in order but for the sake of argument, let’s that it is.

When I last left you, we had just had a some what damp ride on Stanley Falls.
We continued our trek through Timbuktu. Now I have used this far away place in many conversations. I have claimed to been to Timbuktu and back, I have claimed I have search Timbuktu for something I have lost and I have even threaten to send someone there off the toe of my shoe! Now I am actually walking through it….well, the closest I will ever be to the real thing anyway.

We came to the Congo River Rapids; everyone with the exception of Dan wanted to go on so Dan became our “locker.” We found a bench in the shade for him and loaded him down with our fanny packs, slings bag, hats, sunglasses, cell phones, wallets, cameras, loose bills and change.
The rest of us followed the cue all the way to the loading dock. We climbed aboard our raft and got buckled in. There were two other guys on the ride who we noticed had been on the raft when we got on.
Off we started down the river and right away, Zack got hit square in the face with one of those 25cent water shooters. Needless to say, I started to howl, bad move on my part seeing as I got a mouthful of water from another shooter!! Note to self…don’t laugh so hard that it makes a target!!
The ride was a boat-load of fun!! (Pardon the pun) We got nice and wet and of course Bruce as always is a magnet to waterfalls! As we were pulling up to the loading dock, we got talking to the guys that were on the raft with us. They were locals playing hooky from work. It was funny to just watch them on the ride; they were just chillin’ out like they were sitting at home on the couch minus the beer in their hands!
They told us that today was a great day to be in the park because there were not many people there as we had already noticed!!

101_0662.jpg

None of these people are us!

When we got to the unloading area, there were only about 4 people waiting to get on so we asked if we could go around again. “SURE” they said…
Our new friends got off and around we went again and got even wetter!
Fabulous ride!! We had some real good laughs and wished Dan was on with us, he would have enjoyed it!

From here, we came to another coaster, Kumba. Kate and Zack went on this one while the rest of us, including our park map, tried to dry some in the sun.

101_0666.jpg

The only dry one of us!!!
101_0665.jpg

Kate and Zack really liked the coaster and Katie felt sorry for the next person sitting in her seat, being as wet as she was, she left a puddle in it.

We all decided we needed something for lunch…we wandered off looking. I have to say, even with the size of this park, we found that there were not many eateries.
We stopped at Kenya Kanteen. We got hotdogs and fries or fruit and cheese fries along with a very much needed COLD DRINK! The birds here were AWFUL!! If you did not watch your food, they could come and take things right off your plate!! Someone else had this happen to them at the next table over.

As we sat and ate, the Train that circles the park came by. I would have loved to gone on this but we only had so much time and it leaves something for the next visit another time.

After lunch, we made a potty break and then went moseying off. We came to some very large tortoises, I’m talking very large!! You could saddle one of these bad boys and ride one!! One was ever so nice to come over to say hello to me.

Sorry I didn't get this day done still....I promise the next installment we will finish up BG.

By the way...Zack does get wet again!!!:lmao:

Your trip report is great! I'm lovin' it! You're a braver person than me. We can be to BG in less than 15 minutes, but I've been avoiding it since Sheikra came to town. :scared1: Forget me riding it, I'd have a heart attack watching my DS climb on it. Did you not ride Kumba? IMHO, it's the best coaster at BG, other than Skeikra of course. Don't know about that one. I definitely think it's a better ride than Montu. I guess that would come down to personal preference though. It's too funny that you guys were so close to the Bean family & didn't even know it. :rotfl:

Could you have done multi days at Tampa BG? (Trying to decide if we should book a night near there)

You could always plan to spend the night. If you see everything you want at BG the 1st day, there's lots more things to do in the city. If you want suggestions, just ask. :)

OH you should give Sheikra a ride!! It's great!!
As much as I love coaster...the ones with a LOT of loops, corkscrews etc. tend to bother me these days. I would much prefer the large mega coaster with the big hills and bunnyhops!

I still laugh thinking about that picture with my DD in the background!

I'm glad your enjoying the report...I hope to have more up soon.

really enjoying your report - we may have to try BGT one time.....DH and B1 are the coaster freaks in the house....I can barely handle Woody Woodpeckers coaster. I can see that the other beans will follow in Dad's footsteps, they just aren't big enough yet! They can ride all the kiddie coasters FOREVER - and B2 took on the Mummy this trip and loved it! I can totally handle the Mummy, because its in the dark, I can't get a sense of height and the track layout! Yeah, I am weird like that!! :lmao: :lmao:
